We just checked out of the beach club this morning after a 4 night stay there. We had made our way from the north of Vietnam all down the countryside and this was our last stop. After all of teh rooms we stayed at in Vietnam we were surprised to find our beach hut with a bug net over the bed, and no air-con, and because we were paying $30 a night, which was a lot more than any other hotel on our trip we almost moved. But after one night under the safety of our bug net in a bungalow, we realized we had to stay. It is definately the best place to stay on our side of the beach. Unfortunately, most of the action is on the long beach section closer to town and many people told us their rooms were around $20. If we returned we would stay closer to town. The beach front is nice, the people who work there are nice and helpful. The food however is almost triple the price of others in the area. We didn't realize this until the next night. But if you are facing the beach and you start walking up the beach to the right you will find the first beach restaurant you hit has super cheap delicious food. So bring a flashlight and head over there for dinner instead!!!
The room was large, but again, a lot of bus, hense the bug net. We rented a scooter 2 days and headed south one day to the beautiful Sao Beach which is white sand, and also has accomodation. Day 2 we headed north to Cua Can beach. Not as nice although we found a resort to eat lunch at and swam in their ocean front pool. Day 3 we did a snorkelling tour. A fun boat ride but snorkelling on this Island, and in Vietnam for that matter is poor.
The road leading to the hotel and most roads on the island are terrible, it's like off roading on a scooter, so a bit of a fun adventure. If you are just looking to lay on the beach and not move for your vacation you may enjoy this place, but if you are looking for more action I would recommend you stay on the beach closer to town.
