I disagree with the rip-off related comments. Because of the work / construction site next door, we were reluctant to spend our days on the resort beach because of the noise and booked a moto most of the days to explore other beaches. I had checked a few other prices and Mai House was renting good bikes for 150,000 VND which is fair compared to the other tourist agents next door. The food and beers were also not over expensive compared to other resorts in Phu Quoc. For example, I think you had 25000 or 27000 VND for a Saigon beer whereas some other places charge 30000 or 32000.
The main issue is the noise with the new resort being built next door when on the beach.
At night, sleeping was fine.
The breakfast is poor. You have a good fruit selection but there is meagre choice.
The rooms were well cleaned. The tiles in the room were mopped every day.
The front desk staff is very helpful. The diving club Fillper with whom Mai House works is also a good recommendation. It seems Mai House is serious about what they recommend to their guests and we appreciated that. No bad advice. Same for dinner restaurants, places to see, etc.

Stayed at Mai house for 3 nights in November. Really liked the resort. We booked a garden view bungalow (with ac) and it was very quiet. Room is a good size, has a kettle, tea coffee and water restocked each day,bathroom is great, the mosquito net is decent. We needed to get our safe unlocked by the staff at one stage but other than that and a massive spider had a comfortable and relaxing stay!
Its a short walk to the beach, no issues with availability of sunloungers, the restaurant is right on the beach so its easy to get lunch or drinks thoughout the day. There are people selling souvenirs, food,water, tours etc along the beach however they do not bother you and let you come to them so your time relaxing is completely peaceful. Watch out for the ladies offering massage at the left of the restaurant, they will do their best to grab your attention until you go for a massage! they tend to do an overall treatment (massage/footscrub/etc) rather than what is agreed and charge you for it but we didnt mind as it was so cheap. Others staying at the resort said the same and were amused also.
Its a short distance to the airport, and a few minutes to the night market which is worth a look and also a good place to eat.
I agree with a previous poster that the bungalows and the restaurant are somewhat over priced. Saying that we enjoyed our stay. Long beach is lovely, the views from the restaurant are good, there is a nice chill out area at the top of the restaurant with books and you can get wifi here. They will also let you use a computer in the reception/office. The staff were all lovely so my only slight criticism is the price.

Mai Hause Resort
Mai House is a set of bungalows with very different characteristics. We stayed in a “Garden View Bungalow” which offers more views of the backsides of other bungalows than of the garden. The bungalow has insect screens on all larger windows, but these are not much more than a feeble attempt, since there are many other openings that have no barrier and thus the mosquitos are plenty in the room. This wouldn’t be an issue (since you sleep with a rather new mosiquito net over the bed) but this goes hand-in-hand with all windows being permanently “closed” making the room too dark for comfort (the angled panels of the windows can only be adjusted very little to let light in). The bathroom is fantastic. The price (70 USD) is slightly overpriced.

The attached restaurant serves solid food and the bar is stocked well with a nice wine-list.

What really annoyed us was their handling of New Years Eve: For 32 USD they served an admittedly large buffet which could by no means be described as great value. Reservation for that night was warmly recommended. Now if you thought, that $32 may be a little steep, but with fair prices for the drinks you might be willing to dish it out for special occasion... think again! Mai House had printed a special drinks-menu for the night, in which the prices of everything from water to long-drinks to cocktails was increased by as much as 60%, and staples such as water were limited to the expensive smaller sizes (water 500 ml for $1, up from $0,75; 1500 ml bottle not available that night). That’s just a plain rip off, and seeing that customers dining in had to notice the price hike, it is not even a smart rip-off.

Mai house is just perfect for an unforgettable beach holiday!
The beach is fantastic and the part in front of the hotel one of the nicest on long beach.
Bungalows are well equipoed and have either fan or ac and are with garden or beach view. The hotel has an own restaurant and there are many restaurants along the beach.
We spent a relaxing holiday with unforgettable sunsets!
