“Great Spot for R&R With the Family!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

My husband and I stayed here with his parents during their visit to Vietnam. Originally we had booked at Paris Beach but it was terrible so we quickly went online to find a new place to stay. We contacted Saigon Phu Quoc Resort and though they didn't have their lower priced rooms available they offered to upgrade us at no additional charge. They picked us up from Paris and we felt like we were in heaven. For North Americans you have to be careful not to compare this to an all inclusive because it's not. But if you get a good deal on your room and eat your suppers off the resort it doesn't have to be exorbitant (I recommend the Ocean Bar & Grill). The staff do an excellent job cleaning the rooms everyday, the pool is sparkling and not crowded and the beach had more than enough room for sun bathing, swimming and kyaking. Plus, if you walk about 5 minutes down the beach to the Moon Resort, you will find local women under umbrella's offering 45 minute massages for $4 US!

“EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING :-(”

Untidy resort and Without a proper beach. (not joking. The sea waves are eroding the beach itself. It is only a 2-3meters shore left!!! They had to make a sort of concrete wall by the sea in order not to have those 3 meters left gone forever!! During my stay the staff cleaned this concrete barrier from moss by using Vim Bleach! Just imagine fishes in the sea.

Lots of staff around the resort but all of them useless and can not understand english. They go around the resort with their mobile phones in hand at all time.

Expensive meals! A cheeseburger for 12$ is too much to be in vietnam. Everyone used to have meals in the restaurant on the other side of the street, indeed.

EPISODE 1:
I called the bar to order a sandwich and a man on the phone tried to say something in english/vietnamese, then he gave up and shut the phone at my face.
Tried a second time: same result.
I Went to the bar and found out that the attendant was not there and the man answering calls was a lazy security staff doing nothing at the bar. He pretended to take my order. i Went back to the "beach" and after 20 minutes here she is, the bar attendant came to take my order again! Waited for 20 more minutes before eating something since my previous order had not been taken.

EPISODE 2:
I called to order a tuna sandwich. 20 minutes and what i got was a tuna salad. Not a tuna sandwich.
They never bring any napkin when they serve meals on the beach. Which is annoying. And they NEVER collect dishes. So many of them passing by, but none of them noticing an empty dish to be collected. Result is We have to give it back to the bar before I get assaulted by mosquitos.

EPISODE 3:
I accidentally left my key inside the room before going for breakfast. I went to the reception and the girl told me there would be someone there waiting to open the door (she wrote my room number on a piece of paper to have a double check of the room number). Waited for 10/15 minutes. I decided to ask the housekeeper on the floor to have the door opened but she could not understand. Ok. Entered an empty room and called the receptionist again. She said she would solicitate. 10 more minutes (meantime it was time for me to go to the toilet!!!), nothing happened! Went back to the receptionist who called again to have my door opened. Apparently they had sent someone, but to the wrong floor!

EPYSODE 4:

40 minutes to have a cheeseburger for lunch at the restaurant. 5 more minutes to get simply mayonnaise. The kitchen seems to be far from the restaurant, which is the reason why it takes so long.

“overpriced hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We stayed at the hotel in November 2011 with my friends. Nice place, we mostly like it. Good for family hollidays. Our room was nice and clean. For breakfast they serve different types of Asian and Western food. But extra drinks and food are rather expencive at the hotel. The beach is not the best, but there is a better one nearby. I think the hotel is overpriced.

“Quiet and lay back”

We had 3 nights at this resort and it was great. We had 2 rooms side by side as we are a family of 4 and they had no family rooms. We had the President suite and a standard room next door ( the kids got the suite as they had put 2 single beds in that room). The rooms are fine, air con worked a treat and we had nice spacious bathrooms.
The resort breakfast is excellent and the Pho station is fantastic, the staff at breakfast were very friendly - lots of big smiles. The pool was fine although you need to get out of the pool to go to the pool bar! We had dinner one night at the restaurant which was a BBQ night and the food was very good especially the seafood . We had room service another night and enjoyed that also. We enjoyed the tennis courts and the golf driving range. Whilst we have stayed at many great resorts around the world this is as good as it gets on the island and for our 2 rooms and breakfast for 4 it cost $151 US a night! Most other resorts do not have pools and the beach has a very strong undertow. You can walk to many small restaurants nearby, the night market and general stores. We would purchase beer at the general store for about $ 0.40 a can US. We enjoyed our short stay.

“Good place for sun bath”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

The hotel rooms are good and the facilities are also nice. The resort is in good maintenance. Breakfast is good and various, especially the pastry is excellent. The beach is clean but there are still other beautiful beaches in the South. The weather is really wonderful. This is a good place to take a sun bath.
