Strangely enough this is a review about the hotel that is not a hotel review. I will leave the comments about the hotel to the people who actually stayed here. It has just reopened and they have their own beer. Really fresh and tasty and the highlight of of our stay on this island is the Filipino Band!!! June, the bass, keyboard and vocalist is a talented musician and the 3 girls (one of which is his daughter) are really great. They have great outfits, dancing routines, great voices, do any type of song from C & W to funk, and are just plain fun. If you are not dancing on the beach then check your pulse. Don't miss this band and say HI from "Kyle and Daddy" (son and father travelers) as they called out to us as we walked in for the evening from 7-11 pm.
This hotel is situated on a fabulous beach and the rooms are well appointed. However the restaurant and other services just aren't up to par, considering what you pay.
For example, the hotel lists a business centre that has not been built yet. WiFi is off and on. There is no gym. We asked for firmer pillows but were told they didn't have any.
The food is not really at hotel standard and other restaurants are about 2km away.
This hotel feels unfinished in most senses with some sections near the beach still vacant with construction incomplete.
On a bright note, staff have been quite pleasant and the gardens are lovely. The pool here is also a highlight and they do brew their own beer.
Unless they pull their socks up, we can't see this hotel competing with places like La Veranda.
