Got the recommendation from another website called i-escape, who specialise in boutique and trendy hotels. The Puri Madawi fits that description pretty well, with pleasant staff, nice breakfasts and meals, and conveniently placed for the beach.

Would certainly recommend to anyone travelling to southern Bali.

Lovely pool as well!!!

After our first night here, we choose this beautiful tranquil place as our 'home' to return to for a couple of times during our trip in Bali.
The staff (Ms. Ayu, Ms. Dede) is so friendly, the rooms romantic, the surroundings perfect (Batubelig beach is a 2 min. walk), the breakfast is yummie with home made croissants (especially the yoghurt with honey and fruit) and take some garlic bread (!) at the end of the day, when relaxing at your private lounge area.
We will definately come back for Puri Madawi <3 ! Thanks to all the staff!

Just the place if you are looking for a small and quiet, friendly hotel. The bed room and bathroom are clean and have everything a more expensive hotel has (except tea/coffee making facilities) with a ground floor balcony. A short walk to the beach, down a small laneway and near beach side cafes. Turn left at the beach and just a short walk to Potato Head and a bit further on to La Lucciola. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, included is very generous and a perfect start to the day. I had nasi goreng for dinner one night and it was nice and simply cooked. The pool is refreshing and lovely at night with lights and candles. The hotel will call for taxis which are inexpensive and close to good shopping, restaurants, spa and massage places. I would stay here again, probably mix it up a bit and stay at hotel on the beach with sea views but if on a budget this hotel has everything I need.

I stayed here for a week on my own (which was unplanned), and I cannot commend the staff more for being accomodating and expressing a wonderful sense of hospitality. Everyone was helpful and always greeted me with a smile. The rooms are good value for money and this hotel makes a great quiet base to launch into Seminyak from. The pool is beautiful, day and night, and the hotel is drenched in plants and flowers, so although its quite compact and small, it still feels private. The outdoor bathrooms that come with the Bungalow are a real treat too.

My only qualms would be that there is some building work next door to one side of the hotel. They are finishing a villa literally across the road (a few meters from the back of the hotel), and if you are unlucky (as I was on my first night) to be in a room facing the site you will be woken up at the crack of dawn. You can barely hear the works going in once by the pool etc, but there are perhaps 3 or 4 of the suites that back directly onto it, so make sure you ask before you book. In fairness to the Hotel, I mentioned that I couldn't stand the sound and was allocated a room away from the building site and the problem was averted. But do keep it in mind.
