It was our first time in Bali. We had missed our earlier flight, so when we reached Bali, it was almost midnight. The driver picking us up at the airport was very friendly, welcoming and even helped us with our luggage and giving us a tour of our villa, even though it wasn't his "job". Our welcome drinks were also waiting for us in the fridge, since they were not able to welcome us personally.

In a nutshell, plus points for this villa are :
- spacious one bedroom villa
- generally clean (floor, bed, shower)
- housekeeping was available at ANY time. There were a couple of times that we did not leave our villa until dinner time, and we hung the "Please make up villa" door-thing, not expecting them to clean the room anyways. They did!
- friendly staff with helpful advice and assistance,
- very near to shops, restaurants and even though it's a little off the beaten track, it's still quite safe.
- the pool area was cleared of the leaves and litter every day.
- wi-fi available, free of charge.

Minus points are :
- a funny smell via the toilet bowl on the first few days. Probably because the room was not used in a couple of days.
- they NEVER used a toilet bowl brush to wash the toilet. There's a black rim at the water's edge in the toilet bowl. (Sorry, I couldn't bring myself to take a photo.)
- the curtains at the french doors are only day curtains - does not provide any privacy. True that we are fenced up from other units, but because our villa was visible from neighbouring second-floor villa.
- our bed was slightly caved in in the middle, could feel my back aching after the second night.
- wi-fi not stable.

Overall though, I would say that this villa is great value for money. If they tweak the minus points, it would be an excellent villa with excellent service.

What can I say, but fantastic, myself and my daughter had never been to bali, and I admit I was a little scared of the country due to things I had heard on television, but when we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly staff at the Downtown villas, we were there for ten days, the rooms, were clean, and the pool area was always good and clean for us to take a daily plunge. The staff was so helpful and we felt like part of a big family, they gave us good advise where to go and see, and the location was brillient, as my daughter wanted to shop till she dropped and you can do that in the heart of seminyak. I myself just wanted to relax bye the pool, and we had the best of both worlds, and most of all we felt safe at night with the security guarding the gates. I would reccomend the villas they were great. We even came back into our room one day and our television had gone and a huge flat screen in its place. I want to travel to bali again, Someone said to me Bali is one of those places you rather love or hate, I love it so much thanks to the staff at Downtown. Downtown Villas is in a fantastic location. In the heart of Seminyak and only walking distance to some great restaurants and shopping.

Although it's tucked away in a private alley, you still feel part of the action.
Our one-bedroom pool villa was comfortable and very cosy. Quite small in comparison to other one-bedroom villas. I would recommend it for a couple ( at maximum ).

The property is a bit on the tired side but comfortably clean. The bed was a little hard, to air conditioning was too small to cool the entire villa but overall a comfortable stay.
The included breakfast was delivered daily to our villa and was very satisfying.

Please note the one-bedroom villas only offer a reasonably-sized PLUNGE pool. If you want a private pool, you will need to upgrade to a 2/3 Bedroom villa.

The location is handy to the Bintang Supermarket and Pharmacy. You can also walk to trendy shopping at Animale and Body & Soul. Or evening drinks at stylish Sip Wine Bar with great Tapas.

The beach is approx 15mins walk from Downtown Villas.

I travel to Bali every few months and my occupation involves staying in hotels at least 10 nights a month. My sister and father joined me for this work trip so I needed a one bedroom villa. After searching the internet we decided to stay at Downtown Villas. After booking it I read tripadvisor comments and started to really worry that we chose the wrong hotel. On arrival we were really pleased to see that trip advisor was not accurate at all... here is our summary :
Good Points :
1.The location is AMAZING ... so close to the main rd and yet NO noise AT ALL... not only that but the rooms have a full kitchen so if you are travelling with children/infants you are able to cook if need be.... AND up the road about 2 mins is a major supermarket selling everything from fresh produce to baby formular !
2. The one bedroom villa is small if you have 3 adults ... however very managable. It would however suit 2 adults and a child/infant or just 2 adultson a romantic getaway. The room was very clean and is serviced twice daily ! You have your own pool that was also clean ... very very private too ... big wooden walls so that you feel like you are the only ones there in your little Oasis. I also went and had a look at the 2 bedroom apartment . If you can afford this upgrade I highly reccomend it as it is HUGE ... and would comfortably hold 2 couples as there is so much space .
3. The Breakfast included is extremly generous ... you choose what you would like and time and it is cooked then delivered to your door with very friendly service.
4. The staff are very very very helpful and friendly ... they were very welcoming and caring towards us during our stay . Including 24 hour security staff which really helps you feel safe at night, wonderful reception staff and wait staff.

Negative :
the only negative I would say is that it is not 4 star Australian standards ... maybe a high 3 star ...so perhaps a little expensive but then when you consider the enormous breakfast and the privacy it kind of evens it up. If you shop around the internet deals offer good rates for this hotel.
2. Not right on a beach if this is what you are after.

So all up I say stay here ... whatever problems they may have had in the past certainly do not exist now ... we really enjoyed our stay and considering how worried I was before I arrived at the hotel I was just sooooooo pleased that this gorgeous little boutique villa turned out to be so lovely.
