“Spacious and decent villa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Grania Bali Villa was our final accommodation during our 7 days visit to Bali. Stayed there for 2 nights with my husband in the 1 bedroom villa. The villa is spacious enough for the 2 of us with one big swimming pool that you could do laps in, a mini garden and dining area to have your breakfast in the morning for the exterior part. Interior the villa is divided into 2 parts, the bedroom and one living room. Air condition is only in the bedroom area, so living room can feel quite hot in the afternoon, thou with ceiling fan's on. There is no lobby area for this villa, only one mgmt office so it feels a bit weird to me not seeing any other guest.

The facilities is quite complete. They have one kitchen area, utensils for cooking and dining, one big fridge to store drinks and food, water dispenser, DVD and TV and they also provide butler services which is good. You can request the staff's help for almost anything and they are very nice indeed. Food delivery services is also available.

The bathroom is quite spacious too however there is something wrong with the shower head of the semi outdoor shower area, there was no hot water. But we didnt really complaint as we think we can always shower using the bathtub shower. Amenities is quite basic too, almost similar with any other villa in Bali

The location is quite secluded and our taxi driver cant find this area. So, if you are coming here perhaps you can print the map in advance t guide the driver. We rented bicycle so it is quite easy to go around, but may not be the same situation should you choose to walk.

The breakfast is quite basic too and it was cooked in our villa by the staff. Juice was freshly made however we didnt really enjoy our egg dishes as we thought it was quite bland.

All in all, it is a nice villa to stay for its privacy and space. Even though the villa were just launched in 2010, perhaps little maintenance needed to make it look ageless

“Decent Villa but a few things...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa (a total of 4 villas for this place) and everything looked pretty much what you'd find in the photos. Bed room, living room and pool were quite clean, the bed was very comfy and the living room was nice and bright.

On the down side, there wasn't enough hot water for showers, pool area was kind of small and the breakfast was awful. It also seemed that the manager wanted to charge us on all the extras that he could think of. For example, he wanted to charge extra for our 5 year old daughter, though they did charge us for the lost umbrella for 50,000IDR. The airport pickup cost us 200,000IDR, but it would've been way cheaper if we ordered our own taxi. Lastly, it was hard to find as it was through a bunch of small alleys and roads (luckily we memorized the route quickly to guide the taxis that took us back).

“Just beautiful!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

Just returned from 10 days in Bali staying firstly at the Grania Bali Villas.Have got to say it was simply amazing. It was a double storey villa with king size bed downstairs and 2 king singles upstairs. The bed was sooo comfortable. Each day we were treated to clean linen and beds turned down. The villa was air-conditioned so great for a good nights sleep. Each day we were cooked breakfast including a traditional nasi goreng on one occasion. The breakfasts were prepared by 2 lovely Balinese staff who simply could not do enough for us.We had our own private pool which was clean and big enough to do laps in (so not just a "token" private pool). The gardens were beautifully maintained and clean. I relaxed each day on the couch on the open verandah viewing the pool. The staff were very lovely and as mentioned could not do enough for us.We will definitely be returning. On the down side it was a cab ride if we did need to go anywhere but hey the cost was only RP30000 to Kuta so it was never a problem.

“Fantastic, new, clean, exceptional!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011 via mobile

We recently stayed in a two bedroom villa at Grania, the staff were amazing from the minute we walked in, carrying our bags, welcome drinks, showing us around the villa. The staff were always eager to please, happily calling taxis and opening our doors for us, the keys were kept at reception so we didn't need to worry about losing them, breakfast was served at a time convenient for us, the juice was freshly made and ice replenished daily for us, they also had safe drinking water in a chilled and boiling large bottle, soft drinks were about 70c each (as opposed to $2 in other accommodation) the room was cleaned daily, and at six pm the staff came to turn down our bed, spray for Mosquitos and turn on air conditioning. The outdoor bath rooms had two showers and a large bath and the living room was outdoors and spacious with large tv, fridge, fan, private pool and cd player. It was sometimes hard for taxi drivers to find but the staff at Grania were more than happy to direct the drivers over the phone. This place was amazing even by Australian standards, and a great place for couples, families or groups of friends. I would highly recommend!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

“My son and his girlfriend were amazed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

The bathroom in the 2 bedroom villa blew them away, they had the master suite. They loved every minute they spent here and in fact anywhere in Bali. Poor old dad went upstairs into the lesser quarters but still had a lovely time. Bit far from Seminyak beach and shopping (45 mins walk minimum) but ok in a car, bike or taxi. Looked at the other properties along the same street and this was by far the best value. Some small negatives were:
1. Access road - it is potholed as Mr Grumpy Aussie pointed out. But this is Indonesia and it's no worse than the street outside my central Jakarta apartment. I'd like both to be better, and one day they will be, but it all takes time.
2. Air conditioning. Comfortable enough but only if you don't mind 24-25 degrees. Getting it any lower was hard
3. Mosquitoes. Almost all villas suffer this as the living quarters are open to the atmosphere. Not every night though.
4. Breakfast. Understaffed or late if you choose a popular time. Slow and clearly prepared by people unused to eating a western style breakfast. A pity, Asian options not on the menu. My advice, eat breakfast out.
5. A little enclosed feeling, but maybe I'm fussy

All in all a very enjoyable holiday and I'd certainly come back.
