I've only been checked-in for a few hours and I'm already regretting booking here. I come to Wildwood Crest ever year since I was a baby and this is by far the worst place I've stayed. I know that you aren't getting the Ritz Carlton when you stay anywhere in Wildwood. I know that all the hotels are circa 1950s. I know that all the accomodations are going to be dated in style. With that said, that isn't the issue in this Both items together aren't even worth that much. The remote is a cheap little remote and the keys weren't even on a key chain. They handed you two single keys.
Then I parked and unloaded the car, which was an ordeal. I had to carry all my things down a thin walkway past people who were relaxing in front of their rooms because the walkway is everyone's balcony. Don't expect to relax on a private balcony because there is no private and there is no relaxing since people are constantly passing you to get to their own room.
Upon entering the room, I was welcomed with a dank musty smell. I don't know if it is mold, mildew or the airconditioner. Btw, the airconditioner is the strangest thing I've ever seen. It is a huge box (and I mean HUGE) hanging inside on the wall and it has a dirty looking felt thing that is sticking out of the bottom.
The room itself is the ugliest room ever. The furniture is mismatched and in poor condition. The refrigerator is rusted on the inside and iced over. I think it is from the 70's and not maintained. The dresser had a handle hangin off. The phone didn't work. The carpet and walls look dirty and disgusting. The bathroom had an extremely strong mildew smell. The bedroom has a door that appears to lead to the room next door, but it isn't soundproofed. Only the living area has a tv (which isn't that big of an issue) and with the volume all the way up, you still can barely hear it. In fact, certain stations you can't even hear at all. I can't comment on the beds yet because I've just got here and haven't gone to bed yet. I could go on forever about the room so I will stop there.
Note that you only get one parking spot and the Wi Fi will cost you $23 dollars for the weekend.
The exterior is meh. It is definitely near the lower end of appearance in Wildwood Crest, but it didn't bother me too much.
My recommendtion, spend a little more and stay somewhere nicer.
