“Trying something new next time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

We've been coming here for a while, and I agree with most of the positive reviews. Those who are shocked by un-included services and supplies may have a point about cost and expectations, but it's not like Seapointe keeps it a secret.

That said, for the money, I think we can do better elsewhere. The area seemed affected by the economy this year. The market was on a roller coaster the week we stayed and I began to wonder if we'd missed the headline. Much of the area seemed dead, although Crest Tavern was obnoxiously crowded (and much over-rated), and the boardwalk seemed busy.

Morey's Pier kept their prices the same, but gave you less for your money. I guess that's not too hard to understand, and they may need a little extra cash for lawyers these days, although I don't fault them for the recent tragic incident. I fault the parents who are suing them, to be quite honest.

Back to Seapointe proper - the Ibis pool seems to have maintenance issues and we chose not to swim there after a few minutes. It's the only one that is covered, and stays open later. Last year there were flotillas of dead flies in that pool, despite life guards occasionally skimming the pool with nets. This year, the water just seemed unclean.

One peeve is the Seapointe Warm Tubs. Other places have hot tubs, but not Seapointe. The temps vary, and there is no thermometer so I guess that means they don't need to monitor it. Despite the fact the jacuzzis are kept only as warm as a child's bath, no children are permitted in. Maybe it's the "adult swim" policy, but they do it in the name of safety, which is absurd. They simply are not close to the definition of "hot," and at least one of them (maybe Ibis or Centre Court) should be open to kids so families can enjoy them together. Either that or fix the damn things so they function properly.

Someone mentioned keys. The keys and locks are a universal and eternal frustration at Seapointe. It's a typical experience to have to hold the key just right, then turn it just so far, but no further, and then hope you get lucky. If it's not you, it's someone you're waiting for. It gets worse every year, and they do nothing about it. The owners have keypad codes, so they don't need keys at the garage and front doors. As for security, it's good but if someone walks onto the property, they can easily pretend to have a problem with their key and any number of guests or residents will open the door for them because they've had the same trouble. So much for security.

Beach was nice. We had great weather. But so did everyone else in South Jersey that week. We think the money can be spent better, so next year that's the plan.

The grills should stay on until 9pm, not 8pm. People are up later in the summer.

The landscaping is beautiful, but the gas powered trimmers and blowers will remind you at all times that it is a never-ending effort.

The vent fans in bathrooms are all noisy and getting noisier. When will one become a fire hazard? Those not replaced for some reason are probably all 20 years old now.

There are some slippery places around the pools and their serving bathrooms, in places where there should be textured paint or surfaces to prevent slips. Don't count on it.

People will steal (temporarily) the luggage carts from the garage storage area the night before they leave and hide them in their rooms until the next morning, so there are never enough to go around on certain days, even when nobody is using them. Seapointe should find a way to manage the carts better. The "honor system" is a joke if a few of the guests are not honorable, and it only takes a few to exhaust the cart supply. Consider bringing your own.

Much to recommend there, overall, but much to persuade us to look for better, mostly because they are so extravagantly expensive.

Room Tip: Ask for internet service. Not everyone has it. If you get ocean view, try for a room closer to the...

“We prefer cape may”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

The resort was very well maintained on the exterior, but don't try to get something fixed on the interior, esp. if it's a weekend! We were with a few families, one family had no hot water for 2 days. We had them come to our condo to take showers. Very inconvenient. Multiple calls to maintenence and housekeeping went unanswered. Finally we went to the guard house and got someone to pass the message along. I got fixed Monday Morning, we had checked in on friday nite! They give you beach tags on a elastic wrap bracelet. Be very careful, people steal them and you are charged $30 to replace them. Stealing these seems to be a popular pass time we were told and later found to be true from other guests. There are very little things you can walk to, unlike Cape May. We had to drive almost every nite. When in Cape May , we parked and walked to everything, including the food store. If you want a place where you intend to cook every nite, pools are open later and there is an indoor pool open til 10pm, then it is OK.

Room Tip: We were in Center Court Condos at Seapointe. If you stay poolside it is very loud. Think kids scre...

“fantastic family resort in wildwood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

We rented a 1 bedroom/den 2 bath unit in the Pinaacle building. The resort is away from the congestion of the boardwalk area. It is a gated community, and a key is required to get into your building. The parking garage is under the buildings which make it alot safer for the entire family when walking around. The elevators do go right to the garage and there is also a key needed to get from the gargae into the elevator area. The beach is clean and private. They have plenty of pools so none were over crowded on any day. The units are clean, and well kept. They include a washer and dryer unit. The life guards do a nice job at keeping the pools safe. Guests were mostly families which makes the enviornment great for all family members. They have plenty of grills located in a varitey of areas in the resort, playground equipment, tennis courts and basketball courts. Given the size of the resort it is extremely peaceful and quiet, and all the other guests we met were extremely friendly! All units are full condos, (full kitchen) so it is easy to bring food and save alot of money on going out to eat. You do need to bring your linens or wash the linens you use from the condo, they do offer to wash them for a fee. The vacation was relaxing and fun. It is such a peaceful location that until you drive out of the resort and down a few blocks you forget you are in the hustle and bustle of WIldwood!! It is an easy drive to the boardwalk at night, and there is a variety of parking (meters to lots) if you are going down for just a few hours at night, I recommend the meters, you prepay for the number of hours you will be there, which can save you money depending on the lot you choose. They do have restrictions about beach toys, chiars, blankets carts etc, they must be stored in your car and can not be brought into the residences. But again with the elevators right to the parking garage it is not that much of an inconvience. I found for our unit the pictures on line were very representive of the unit and there were no surprises when we got into the unit. You can check in early and recive your resort tags allowing you to use the pools and beaches, they will call you on your cell as soon as your room is ready so you can go to your unit. However you can not use them to stay late on your checkout day. Security checks several times a day on the beach and at the pools for the resort tags to assure the people using the ammenities are staying at the resort. The kids were asking before we left if we can go back again next summer!! The resort does allow you to prebook the same unit for the same week the following summer during your stay. They provide a mid week tidy up but not daily service.

Room Tip: preview the resort page for what is available they have great pictures of the units.

“an AMAZING stay - we'll be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

I have been coming to wildwood for over 20 years and this year my wife and I decided to bring our 2 little ones to Seapointe. We have stayed in hotels previosly and have our favorites but for the price at Seapointe we feel it has a whole lot more for families. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo with 2 baths living room and kitchen and full service laundry room - all the comforts of home. The kids were able to share their own room and we were able to eat comfortably inside if we didn't feel like going out. Seapointe offers several pools including an indoor pool, tennis courts, outdoor BBQ area, private beach and snack stand. The resort is close to cape may the boardwalk etc. The staff was very friend - we'll be back next year.

“Expensive, but loved it!”

Amazing find on the Jersey Shore! Lovely grounds, great pools, really perfect for family with kids. They have a water splash area for toddlers, several kiddie pools, and family pools. A nice playground, tennis courts, and basketball (kiddie).

Jersey Shore tends to have many motels, so it was great to find something that was upscale. You get a condo/town home with a kitchen. Be aware that there aren't that many great places to eat around, so you really have to be up for cooking. Many gas grills on the premises, so hopefully you enjoy bbqs. Cape May is about 15 mins away if you're looking for upscale dining.

The kitchens are well equipped, but the management lets you know that you need to bring all supplies such as toilet paper, soaps, detergent etc. There are a couple of grocery stores 10 mins away - make sure you stop there before getting to your condo.

We liked the fact its a gated community, and there are security personal to keep people in check if needed . We didn't have any problems: most were people with families, but we saw some rowdy pets.

The beach is ok - its a typical Wildwood beach - we personally preferred hanging out by the pool.

We'll definitely be back.
