We wanted easy access to New York, with easy access to our friends in Westfield. And a nice place to stay as well. This offereedd a one minute walk to the train to anywhere, high end shops wihtin a walk, high end restaurants within walkig distance, and a really nice clean hotel room. My only complaint was that I forgot to set a wake up call and they did not read my mind,

First, let me start by saying the location was the best! Within walking distance of shops and restaurants, not to mention the RR station being a block away! The bed was very comfortable, but the room had a bit of an odor when we first walked in. The bathroom light was not in working order but was promptly fixed. The staff was not friendly... no one really said anything to us in the hallway or at the front desk. We had made a reservation on line and were quoted one rate but charged another. When brought to their attention they corrected the situation. I think I would try another hotel next time.

We stayed at the Best Western in Westfield, NJ for one night in April, 2010, and we would happily stay there again. The inn is about a one-minute walk from the train station and buses, so it is easy to get around without a car. (Via the train, one can get to Newark Airport, New York City, or other towns in New Jersey.) The inn is also located in walking distance of numerous upscale restaurants and shops.

The service at the front desk was prompt and pleasant. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the room was quiet. The continental breakfast, which was included, had options such as cereal, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, bagels, pastries, and waffles. For lunch, we walked to the nearby restaurant Theresa's, which was delicious.

As we departed to go home, we remarked to each other that we wish we could sleep in the comfortable beds at the inn a few nights longer. We will stay there again, if we need a hotel in or near Westfield.

Due to business trips to the local area (every other month for the past two years), this is my favorite place to stay. Although the railroad runs behind the hotel, it isn't really noticable unless the windows are opened. Comfortable beds, clean linens and towels and very friendly, helpful staff. Many excellent restaurants within walking distance (3-4 blocks) which run the gamut from NJ diners to chains (Panera Bread, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Jersey Mike's Subs, etc.) and neighborhood pubs & pizzarias to very up-scale restaurants (French, Mexican, Asian fusion, steak, seafood, etc.). Although it could use updating, it fits into the community and is NOT at all shabby. Free breakfast and proximiity to train station are also pluses. Unless you're the picky type, you won't go wrong making this your base of operations.
