“A Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

I travel to Westfield twice a year from California to visit friends, and have come to love the Westfield Inn. The rooms are large, comfortable, spotless and reasonably priced. The front desk staff is always welcoming, and the complementary buffet breakfast always excellent. Better yet, the Inn is right next door to Chez Catherine, one of the best French restaurants in the country. They'll even deliver dinner to your room. If I needed a place to stay anywhere in central New Jersey, I'd go out of my way to stay at the Westfield Inn.

“Outdated and Overpriced!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We stayed at The Westfield Inn on 12/26/11. This was our first stay and we were pleased to get a room when one became available. (When we called for a reservation earlier in the month, we were told the place was fully booked and added to a wait list. A room became available a few days later.) We're sorry to say that we will not be returning and we advise other travelers not to stay at this hotel unless location trumps everything and you are willing to overpay for accommodations to stay in Westfield.

We grew up in Union County and so are familiar with Westfield and surrounding towns. Westfield is a lovely town and this hotel is in a great location but the owners have a nerve to charge $149 for accommodations that haven't been updated in 25 years and to boast about a sunny breakfast room when the decor is circa 1980 and the food is meager and stale.

The wallpaper in the bathroom of the room in which we stayed was the same as what was in our house when we purchased it in 1987. The breakfast room is far from cheery and the first thing we saw as we entered the "lounge" door was a bowl of bananas covered with brown spots. The decor was dark and drab (chairs and rug from a 1980s-era banquet hall) and the food was awful (stale English muffins, reheated waffles, hard-boiled eggs and all serve-yourself).

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel if you don't want to hear trains passing through the We...

Customer feedback is essential to maintaining the needs of our guests, and it is always appreciated. Hotel rennovations are always a work in progress, especially if the hotel is only a 40 room boutique property This year, we are planning upgrading our bathrooms. Also Best Western design is becoming a greater partner in developing our design without losing the elements that make us more of a quaint downtown hotel. Some guests have referred to us as an oversized bed and breakfast, and our decor and style are a reflection of a very charming downtown community. We are striving for a better balance.
Breakfast as well is an integral part of our business. We feature a continental breakfast that includes waffles, bagels and artisan breads baked in town and delivered fresh daily, Hard boiled eggs, assorted cereals, muffins and breakfast cakes, yogurts and juices, The holidays are extremely busy and with an extra day off, we needed to better manage the plan. We have learned from it and appreciate the input.

“Freshly baked cookies...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

was the first thing we saw when we checked in. They have a very welcoming lounge with flowers and fresh fruit, friendly reception staff. I had booked into what I thought was a b&b and ended up feeling very surprised and happy with what we got. Our room was huge, light and airy. Very comfortable beds, ice machine right outside the lift. Breakfast was included and plentiful for a small establishment, bagels, waffles, yogurt, fruit, toast, boiled eggs, tea, coffee and fruit juice. The Westfield Inn is not pretending to be anything its not and what it is is lovely! Great location, lots of shops on its door step, large free car-park.
I was also very impressed by the helpfulness of their staff- My daughter left her Harry Potter Chocolate frog in the fridge in her room. I called them and they very kindly posted it to us at our next hotel without charge. Now that's what I call service!

“Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

We recently stayed st the Best Western for a family affair. The hotel was literally five minutes away from our final destination and easily accessable from the Garden State Parkway.
The rooms are large, beds extremely comfortable. There is a fridge and complimentary coffee/tea in the room, a new flat screen tv and adequately lighting. There is also complimenatry breakfast with both hot and cold choices.
While we did not avail ourselves of the surrounding area, the hotel's location is walking ditance to numerous restaurants and upscale shopping.
The only downside was the noisy air conditioner in the room which almost convinced me I kept hearing trains ...
I would definately recommend this discreetly and convieniently located INN (although without my GPS, I might have missed the entrance).

“good location in town, needs renovation soon!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2010

Pleasant, average place to meet most basic needs, especially if you have business in the town of Westfield. Very easy walk to many shops, restaurants, places of interest -- literally across the street to many. Attached to hotel is a pleasant, but high priced French restaurant -- good if you are tired and don't want to seek out alternatives, but avoid if you are on a budget or don't prefer strictly French cuisine. Hotel staff is friendly, accessible. Rooms not bad, but guestrooms, halls, bathrooms need major overhaul...broken closet doors in our room, dusty appliances and carpet, basic bathroom in need of redecoration...Some rooms overlook bank parking lot and drive-through.. can be disturbing. Very close to local train station. You'll see a lot of commuters walking nearby. Decent breakfast included but in small room which fills quickly. Good, affordable place for short stay in area, but no frills. Go to NYC for that.
