“Wonderful Stay”

Beautiful location and well kept property with extremely courteous staff. The suites were well appointed and very clean. Our room overlooked the Manhattan skyline, which was a nice surprise. The bed was very comfortable and the location was convenient, yet quiet. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the $25 nightly parking fee. The hotel has a sprawling, open surface lot that was never more than half full, so charging that much for an open lot seemed a bit excessive.

Stayed here when visiting New york and for this purpose it was a little too far from NY City.
Buses from the hotel do not run frequent enough and a cab is quite pricey because of the toll charges to enter from NJ to NY state.

That said - if you are staying here because you are visiting NJ it is a great hotel with friendly staff and rooms are very clean.

We had a harbour view and it was beautiful to see NY from accross the water. We stayed ind a twin bed room with a seperate seating and table area - so i think it was a suite. The room was nice and had all ammenities. If anything the general decor could be updated - but for the price the service is excellent. The bathroom is spacious and very clean, all toileteries were updated restocked our stay.

Staff were very friendly and gave us lots of advice and helpful tips. They also provided us with local details of restaurants, food delivery etc!

There is a free internet area in the lobby with quite a few computers. You might have to wait a few minutes - but there is always one that becomes avaliable. This was really appreciated and we used it at all hours of the day. It is partitioned from the main lobby area - so you can use it with ease.

There is a small business complex next to the hotel - where there is a subway and a few other types of fast food outlets. So if you are travelling and want a quick bite its worth popping in to get food on the go.

I would recommend this hotel to as suitable for all types of travellers incl families, groups or friends or couples.

Room Tip: try and get a room with a harbour view. The sunrise is a beautiful sight.

I've probably stayed at this little gem a dozen times, and it will continue to be my first choice in NY. I come to the city on business at least twice a year for shows at the Javits. The ferry is steps away from the hotel's door and the 39th St terminal is steps away from the Javits. Incredibly convenient. The rooms are huge, the beds are fabulous and the staff will do just about anything for you. Price-wise, it's an amazing bargain. The city-view rooms have no equal. I'm tempted to keep this place a secret, but I wish them every success, so it's time to spread the word.

Room Tip: Don't hesitate to ask for a city view room on a higher floor.

“Update To Review”

***On 22nd Oct 2010 I wrote the following review prior to my trip to New York****

(For almost two months I have attempted to sort out a two night booking which Starwood's Reservation team mis-sold me. I have experienced nasty attidude, poor customer service and a pass the buck nature that made me very apprehensive about holding onto this reservation.

Tonight, less than 48 hours before I travel, I managed to speak with Bridgette who sorted my booking at last and sent me e-mail confirmation.

I hope and pray that my stay is a lot less stressful than the two month booking process.

Sheraton/Starwood - Sort your act out and stop treating perspective customers like dirt !!!

“Great location with a view of NYC!!”

We stayed for one night to attend the motorcycle show in NY, the price of the room included parking, and ferry tickets. The staff was friendly and accomodating giving us a room with a view of NYC. Tee room was very large and clean with a king size bed. However, the next morning when I attempted to use the shower the handle came off and we were unable to shower. I reported ot the front desk upon checking out, and the reponse was "did you call us to report?" My response was "We were traveling home and were anxious to get on the road, so I'm reporting it now." The hotel was clean and the location was great. In the future we will probably stay again but will check the shower upon check in as not to take any chances.
