We stayed here for one night just before returning home on our 5 month trip around the USA. We stayed in lots of hotels, and this was the worst. It's so bad it's actually difficult to know where to begin!
We arrived and checked in, then got moved after the cleaners told us to (although we're still not entirely sure why). The hotel room was a bit rough, a bit worn out and tired but we've stayed in dirtier. The bathroom was dark and dingy and we had to move the microwave to find a plug but we just didn't touch anything and weren't too fussed.
In the evening we saw a couple of nice sports cars driving into the car park at different times, then saw couples walking into a room opposite ours and leaving again after about an hour. We tried not to assume the worst. I would like to add that we weren't staring out of the window all night, the walls are so paper thin it was impossible to not be aware of any commotion outside!
We had an early start in the morning so went to bed reasonably early. However, at 4am we were awoken by people cheering and shouting right outside our room door. This went on until 7am, literally shouting and laughing and screaming, and it turned out they were staying in the room next door. It was just unbelievable, we were less than impressed (and admittedly, deliberately noisy when we got up at 8.30!!)
Breakfast was so rubbish, and we were so tired that all we could do was laugh! The coffee machine didn't work, we put a bagel in the toaster but when it popped up it tripped the fuse and the whole breakfast area's electric went off. We told the woman behind the desk who switched it back on, then the toaster popped again and it all went off for the second time. We gave up and walked next door to MacDonalds to get a couple of coffees!
The worst bit came when we were back in England a week later and checking through our credit card bills. We paid $70 for the room in the first place, which was outrageous as we stayed in some nice hotels for about $40, but it seems that all the hotels around this area were quite pricey. We found that there was a charge on our bill for £70 from the hotel taken off the credit card (with no authorisation) even though we'd already paid for the room through Expedia. I sent an email to Choice Hotels International who eventually told me there was nothing they could do as it was 'privately owned' (despite being under their management!!!) so effectively, we got robbed.
If you've already booked a night here just be very wary and check your bank statements. Although it would seem you won't be able to get a refund even if they do help themselves to your money.
If you haven't yet booked a room but are thinking of doing it, just don't. It's really not worth it.
