“Over rated. A disappointing visit.”
I booked the Bed and Breakfast escape which included breakfast for two. See below from your website. However, upon checkout it was noted that we were charged for breakfast on both days. When I questioned this, the person at the desk stated that it only covered breakfast for one so she would take off one day’s charges, the lesser of the two charges. She was not friendly or particularly helpful.
In addition to the above mentioned issue with the restaurant bill, I would like to comment on the food. We found that the food was not very good. I could not eat my breakfast on Saturday from the buffet. The eggs were the worst I have ever had. The highlight was the bagel. On Sunday, I ordered a frittata from the menu and it was again, almost inedible due to the amount of onion that was in it. The service was very slow on Sunday and we had to wait for our check. So, we paid $28 dollars for breakfast for two that we didn’t really eat.
The room was satisfactory and clean upon arrival. However, on day 2, the shampoo and soap were not replaced. The water glass that I used the evening before was not emptied or replaced and the ice bucket was not emptied either.
The main areas of the hotel appeared to be clean but the hallway needed to be vacuumed and the elevator towards the back of the property was very dirty.
I was quite disappointed in our stay as many of our friends had said that the Clinton Inn was a nice hotel. Overall, we found the staff to be unfriendly, no one smiled and no one went out of their way to assist us or any other guests that we noticed. It's been three days since I expressed my dissatisfaction with our visit and there hasn't been a response. At this point, I must assume the management is indifferent.
