“If they are booked I'll change my week rather than stay elsewhere..!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

I am an interior designer and the rooms were decorated in a Queen Ann motif that will never go out of style. Rooms were comfortable and cleaner than anywhere We've ever stayed before. The management and staff were excellent and made us feel like we were they're most important guests in Stone Harbor. Lori I hope you read this, our compliments to you and your staff.
By the way one of the reasons that the Management and staff treat you like family is because we found out most of them are family. The owners children work there and were every bit as competent and friendly as she was.

“If they only had a pool...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

This is a spotless, ideally located Jersey shore (no frills) motel. Very helpful and charming manager allowed me to check in early on a steamy 100+ degree day. I met the housekeeper as she finished preparing the room for me and it was immaculate. Decor is Queen Anne and bathroom classic throwback to the 50s-60s (pink and gray tile). AC unit worked perfectly on the hottest day of the summer.

This was my second stay. Last Fall, the absence of a pool was a non-issue, but this time, I really missed it. The beach was simply too hot to enjoy, even though they give you a comp. badge for your visit. I wonder if they would consider giving guests the option to use the pool at one of their other local properties. If so, I would gladly stay here again w/o hesitation.

A bit pricey, but it is high season and in this case, you get what you pay for,

Room Tip: Stay on the first floor if you are disabled; there is no elevator to reach second floor.

“Quaint Stay In Stone Harbor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2010

My husband and I spent Labor Day Weekend in Stone Harbor at the Colonial Lodge. We enjoyed it very much. It's an older place...so don't look for brand new anything. However, it was clean and quaint and we loved it. It's close to the ocean and the shops. We look forward to returning for another visit in the Spring.
Our family vacations in Stone Harbor almost every year (we rent a home). This was a last minute trip we planned and were thrilled to stay at Colonial Lodge.

“Do not stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

A/C was not cooling the room and had ice on the front of the unit. When reported, instead of replacing it with a new A/C as most places do, the manager told us to "use a knife and scrape off the ice". We asked for extra pillows and were told they did not have any. Eventually were given one pillow that was so damp and musty we did not use it. We will NEVER stay at this place again.

We are sorry that you felt so unsatisfied with your experience at the Colonial Lodge. The manager has been there for 20 years and takes great pride and responsibility in her motel and handles customer requests immediatley. We hope that you will keep Stone Harbor and the Colonial Lodge in your thoughts for your next beach getaway.

“Very average motel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2009

This motel is nothing special. The rooms are small and the amenities are basic (small soaps/small cheap towels). The rooms were clean. The best thing going for this motel is the proximity to the beach and an easy walk to the main part of town. I would reccomend this motel for a few days, but it would be too claustrophic to stay a week.
