First, I have to say that check in blew me away. Well, stunned me anyway. I reserved online and requested extra pillows and bath towels in the comments box. I travel often on business and some personal and this is a standard request that I have been making for about 8 years. At check in, I was told that my request for extra towels and pillows was received and they are already in my room! Sounds silly, but that made a huge impression. It is the FIRST time this request has been fulfilled in advance, even if staying at a 5 star hotel/resort.
The room was well appointed, plenty of outlets to charge my various electronic gadgets. Comfortable, clean nice TV too. The only thing lacking was the clock radio. The numbers did not glow. They were gray and could not been seen at night or unless up close. The bathroom was nice with EXCELLENT lighting (most are never bright enough, making shaving an adventure or make you feel like you are showering in a cave). The shower was also GREAT. The shower head actually delivered a very nice flow and spray of water. This was a simple water pic 6-7 setting head that really worked well. A rarity for sure in my travels.
Breakfast was pretty good too. Although I am not a fan of powdered scrambled eggs and the "bagel topper" is not a topper. It is half a bagel with egg, cheese and sausage somehow bonded to the surface. It reminded me of bagel bites (pizza bagels). The oatmeal was excellent with plenty of things to mix in if desired. Juices, hard boiled eggs, cold cereals, yogurt, make your own waffles, pastries, breads, bagels, etc, fresh fruit that was very good and great coffee.
Free USA was under my door as well in the a.m. with my bill. I would highly recommend this location. It is right off a major highway, near a great deal of shopping, banks and restaurants and close to the train station. I have been finding Hampton Inns to be better than most business hotels lately when traveling and also very suitable for personal/vacation travels.
