I booked my reservation through hotels dot com. Evidently, this Candlewood requires a minimum of 3 nights and failed to advertise that. I booked on July 11, and then on July 25, I received a notification that they "couldn't complete my reservation." Shouldn't they have realized that 2 weeks before when I booked?

The internet connection there was really pathetic....even the TV was bad...though the rooms were just cosy...

The bathrooms were stinking!

I certainly did not like the place and would not like to come back…there are better alternatives very nearby and am planning on checking them out.

We stayed at the Candlewood at the end of May to attend our daughters graduation ceremony from Princeton. Princeton schedules the annual alumni reunion a the same time so rooms are very pricey and scarce close to town and booked a year ahead apparently. Beware if you are allergic to Orange and Black. The Candlewood is about 17 miles North (I'd give a more exact number but we made trip a half dozen times and never went the same way more than twice.) of the school. New Jersey maps are non existent locally so bring your own. The navigator on my phone had a heyday rerouting us, the connections between the two locations are a spiderweb of roadways.
The hotel was nice enough and at $62 a night a bargain compared to others. It sits next to several other extended stay hotels in an area fairly devoid of services so plan on driving to a Restaurant. The rooms were OK, a bit worn but decent enough, the bed was OK but short on pillows (3). On the plus side the laundry facilities were free, bring your own soap and the kitchenette was clean and serviceable. As an extend stay facility you need to swap out your own towels at the front desk, we didn't have the room cleaned while we were there, we just hit between cleanings which are once a week. I might explore other options in the area, some right next door, but my fellow TA reviewers got this one right. A clean safe hotel at a good price. You know what you're getting.

Nice building, well maintained but just beginning to show age around the edges. Non HD TV hooked up to DVD/VCR combo. Is anyone out there still using tapes? The room was a little small and I had to drag the recliner halfway across the room to sit in it while watching the television. For all that these people really try. The room was as clean as any hotel I have ever been in and somebody had spent time making sure that everything was placed just so. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was better equipped than any other suite hotel of this class I have been in. Excellent value in this market, where nothing is cheap.
