I stayed here late October 2011 with my boyfriend as it was much cheaper than staying downtown NYC. It was a beautiful clean hotel with a fabulous front desk staff. There is a bus very near the hotel which takes you directly to downtown New York in about 20 mins. The buses run very regularly and throughout most of the night. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. We also didn't notice any loud noises despite the fact it was next to a Home Depot. Our only complaint what so ever was that we got a little lost without a map trying to find it, and that one night we decided to be lazy and take a taxi home, and it cost us 60$. I also liked that the hotel seems very committed to customer service.

Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus is a very decent hotel. The room, the amenities, the service -everything was perfect. But on the day of my departure ( I am a foreigner) I asked the hotel administrator to book a cab for me to Port Authority Bus Terminal. I needed a usual cab but a big black car arrived and I was charged 77 USD for a 15 min ride to NY. I think it's unfair, even a robbery. My mistake was that I didn't enquire about th price beforehand.
The reception administrator and the driver talked in Spanish which I don"t understand.
This final "service" spoilt my nice impression about the hotel.

Location – less than a mile from the Lincoln Tunnel, you really can’t find a hotel closer and on more of a straight shot right into Manhattan. It’s a little crazy getting in from the highway(s) as far as the exit ramps, but there are plenty of signs (small, but they’re there).

Staff / Service – Always friendly and accommodating. They aren’t going to get any perfect “10”s, but pleasant and helpful for sure.

Layout / Decor – Run of the mill rooms for a Hilton, but the lobby is clean and inviting, with ample lounging areas.

Cleanliness – Well maintained throughout.

Room – Standard, no frills business-type accommodations.

Shower/Bath/Bathroom – The bathroom was plain, and the shower was adequate, while not overwhelming with water pressure (sad to say).

Noise – Very little noise, especially for the are the hotel is in.

Parking – Some spaces in front, but the majority in a deck about 200 feet from the entrance

Linens – Comfy and well maintained. Thick enough to be adequate, but not what you might get at a Crown Plaza, for example.

Furniture – Pretty close to Hampton Inn level. Basic and functional, but nothing fancy.

Room Extras – Nothing out of the ordinary.

Closet Space - The usual sliding door double closet.

Lighting – Desk and walls.

View – Secaucus.

Elevators – Slow. Slow. Slow.

Ice / Vending – Standard, convenient.

Check In – Quick and easy.

Extended Checkout – We didn’t ask.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend. It was my first time trying a hilton garden inn and I must say it exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly, the service was smooth, the rooms were clean, the beds heavenly and the bathroom was spotless. You get your money's worth. I was there with my husband and our 2 daughters who also enjoyed the hot tub and the pool. The location worked for us, very close to NYC, we just hopped on the bus and we were there in no time.
