Searched for a while to locate a hotel with easy NYC access and still in an area of NJ that I was familiar with.
PLUS:
*A discounted rate from my company
*Some covered parking / good well-light non-covered parking
*Kitchen
*Offered us parking at a sister-hotel for better bus access
*Room was clean and spacious
*Hotel was unable to provide our room as reserved (2 beds)
but offered TWO rooms (at same price) or a SUITE with king
bed and pull-out sofa. An in-house group extended their stay
was the explanation.
SO-SO
*Bus to NY was 1/2 mile but it was on a service road with no
sidewalks, up a hill with a big curve. Glad I had a car
*No daily housekeeping - you could exchange towels daily at
front desk.
*Limited amenities (soap, no shampoo, etc.)
*Front desk closed at 11pm
*One coffee packet provided per stay - no decaff available
*Shower head had a leak and showered the ceiling and across
to the bathroom mirror - was fixed same day (how did
housekeepers miss this?)
*A little hard to find -- it's on the service road to local highway
but the service road goes under another highway so it's
really on both sides of a highway. Confused?
NEED IMPROVEMENT
*Towels smelled like smoke
*Room was stuffy even with AC unit and overhead fan running
It's isolated - no restaurants, gas stations, 7-11 nearby
*Picture window (which looks towards GIant Stadium) was
filthy. Hard to tell if it was weather or if the double paned
windows were molded inbetween.
OVERALL
For my personal "requirements" - I probably would not stay here again. However, if this is the right area for your business, if you have a car and you are staying longer than 2 or 3 days - this could be a right fit for you.
There is a major construction project next door -- lots of construction workers in the hotel - that is just an observation - didn't see any families.
