“Good For The Price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2011

I must say that after reading the previous reviews on this hotel I was hesitant to book it. I however found the front desk staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, although there was permanent stains on the carpet. There was a kitchen with a small table, microwave and refrigerator. The heat and hot water worked great. Although there wasn't a blow dryer in the room I was told at checkout that one can be borrowed from the front desk. For the price it was fine!

“Great Place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2010

This is the best place to stay in Red Bank. The staff is great and help you with anything you need. The rooms are nice and clean. The hotel is located in a great location off the parkway. Everyone should try to stay at this great place.

“Most Digusting Hotel ever!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2009

My husband and I just returned from the worst weekend ever. We booked at this hotel because we were in town for a wedding at the shore. First when we checked in we were told our King room, which we reserved 4 months ago in a group block rate, was given to the previous guest as a courtesty since he extended his stay - so we were "upgraded" to a double room. After about 15 min of arguing with the front desk person, who claimed to be the general manager, she told us the room was a double but that it had double queens. In the middle of the argument the bride to be and groom happened to enter to drop off gift baskets for guests, and were understandably infuriated to find that all but one of their guests staying there received this "upgrade". Since we were running late to the rehearsal at this point we said fine and took the key for the "upgrade" double "queen" room. Upon entering to drop our stuff quickly we noticed the foul odor in the room but opened a window and left. When we returned 3 hours later the stench was still enough to gag us and we told the front desk who first wanted to spray neutra air in the room. I argued that it wouldn't cut it and they switched our room to another one down the hall, another "double queen". The "double queen" were actually double beds and my husband and I ended up sleeping in separate beds since they were so small. The room was absolutely disgusting. There was moldy open yogurt in the refrigerator, the coffee pot was moldy and had a spider in it, there was clumps of hair on the bathroom floor and in the sink, the recliner in the room had stains as if someone vomited on it and it was wiped (not cleaned) and we found three more spiders in the room before going to Target to buy sleeping bags to sleep in on top of the covers of the rock hard beds.

The next morning we again told the front desk who offered to move us to a "queen" room - and admitted the previous manager was wrong they were not double queens, they were double beds. She was polite and apologized. When we returned from breakfast we switched to the 3rd room, which had been upgraded a bit but the kitchen area was still dirty. The room still smelled terrible and the carpet from the outside wall to the bed was wet. Needless to say i did not remove my shoes the entire time i was in the room. The room doors and exit doors have no stops on them so from about 545am on all you hear is slamming doors. It was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. We traveled Europe for 3 months, staying in youth hostels for $12/night that were CLEANER THAN THIS. GROSS!! It completely ruined the weekend away for us :(

“Don't Expect Much”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2009

Don't expect much here and you won't be disappointed. Stayed one night. Selected motel because of price. Bed had hair in it. Bathroom floors were sticky. Bedside table so sticky had to clean myself. Desk clerk was exceptionally helpful and polite. I would recommend only for price.

“No frills MEANS No frills”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2009

When we checked in we were given a room with one bed. We rang down to the desk straight away and we were given a two bed room immediately which was good. We were also able to request a two bed room for our friends who had been delayed due to late flights and as it turned out didn't arrive until after midnight. The staff were very nice and were very helpful. We used the laundry facilities which were satisfactory for our needs. We also had wifi internet access which was actually better than some other hotels we stayed in during our trip which cost a lot more money.

The hotel does not have room service. It has one vending machine in the laundry room. The room had a kitchenette which was useless to us, we had no food to cook. There is no maid service. All this was fine as we knew we were paying budget prices and expected budget accommodation. I was surprised however that there was no shampoo provided.

The only thing I did complain about was the smell in the room. We would air the room out each night (which was not good as the weather was very very cold) but each night we came back to the room it STANK. We checked all cupboards and under the beds to see if there was something left there. It seemed to come from the carpet. It was disgusting. If you are staying here and get room 237, ask for another room!

I would recommend this hotel but only for someone staying for a short time and as long as they know they are getting no frills whatsoever.
