“Middle of the Road”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

This is not a bad place to stay in Princeton.
It is:
* clean
* has a nice workout room
* has fairly spacious rooms
* full service restaurant and room service
* the usual amenities.

Where it needs work:
* the hotel has age and is showing it
* the coffee makers in the room are of the old style and a bit of a pain
* better staffed front desk during prime check in times
* housekeeping missed putting replacement cups in the room

“Employee Seminar 1/23/2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Wow! Where do I begin. I was going to hold my January 23rd Employee Orientation Seminar in Maryland but decided to check into having it at the Holiday Inn Princeton, which is closer to my NJ office. I am soooo..glad I did. I met with their Group Sales Manager, Abby Campbell. I arranged to have 8 rooms available for Sunday, January 22nd. Abby was the most pleasant and knowlegable hotel representative that I've ever dealt with. What a pleasure! The employees, the presenters and I arrived at the seminar on Monday. I was greeted by Abby who told me that if there is anything I need don't hesitate to ask. She made me feel like I was a very important customer - which I was :-). The meeting room was prepared exactly the way I wanted it. The continental breakfast was set up in the perfect area. I asked Abby to change the lunch time from 12:00 to 11:45 - and it was ready at 11:45. The lunch set up was fantastic - buffet style! I must say, the food was also excellent! My group had a special section reserved in the dining area. My employees didn't have to do anything except be seated with their food. There was a very pleasant worker who came to every table with refreshments and anything we needed. We didn't even have to remove our lunch plates, etc., from the table when finished. She was right there to remove them. What a great experience! Everything was very neat and clean. The package price for the sleeping rooms, the meeting rooms and the food was extremely reasonable too! I am reccommending that if you need a place for a meeting, call Abby at Prince Holiday Inn.

Room Tip: I have no preference in the hotel of where I would want a room. I had 15 employees taying in 8 rooms...

“TV production”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Recently we shot interviews for a show on a nationally recognized network in Princeton, NJ. We had to pull it off last minute. Without Abby Campbell - Group Sales Manager at the Holiday Inn Princeton -we couldn't have made it. In less than 24 hours she reserved a great conference space for us and gave me a great deal on the guests rooms. My shoot went flawlessly. I wish more hotels would operate at such high level of professionalism. Thank you, Abby!

“Good place, could have been better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Good place for a short stay. Limited options for veggies !! The location is an issue as you would not find restaurants close by. The breakfast has some good options. Overall good for a short stay. Hotel has good arrangements to connect you to EWR or JFK

“Holiday Inn Princeton, New Year's Weekend”

We didn't stay here because of any planned festivities - were actually going to visit a relative over the long weekend, but couldn't stay at their place due to illness. We ended up at this hotel mostly because it seemed to offer the most reasonable rates in a seemingly pricey area, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our stay. While the hotel was sparsely occupied, we appreciated the peace and quiet. We could hear voices in the hallway but not at all hours and the fan, while not over-loud, was enough to muffle them. The room was clean and comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was good. Fixtures a bit scratched up, but clean. Plenty of towels and toiletries provided and good quality decaf coffee in-room. Beds and pillows were comfortable and we enjoyed a restful night. The 'complimentary' breakfast wasn't really complimentary (came with an additional charge of $10) but the nightlyrate was so reasonable that tacking on the breakfast charge wasn't a significant increase, and the breakfast items were well-prepared. Fridge was average sized but worked just fine. The business center had an adequate internet connection. The gym had standard cardio equipment which was in good shape, except for the elliptical machine which had rust on it. There was some strength training equipment provided in the form of one set of adjustable dumbbells and bench.

All of that said, what left the most positive impression was the courteous and attentive service offered by housekeeping, the front desk (Shuhrat was very conscientious and friendly) and server/manager Carla in the Cafe Nicole. Thanks to those folks for a comfortable stay. For value, service and quality this hotel will be at the top of our list for consideration if we need accomodation when we visit again.

Room Tip: If you don't want a room with a view of the dumpsters, drive around the building once. :-)
