I normally have a high tolerance for a crummy motel, but I just had to join TripAdvisor just to warn others.
My family and I got down to Point Pleasant late on a Saturday and figured we'd try to find a place to stay. I should have known something was wrong when they had vacancies available on one of the busiest Saturdays of the summer season. I didn't get the privilege to visit their 301 Broadway Motel, we stayed at their 108 Broadway satellite motel. There was nobody there, the guy had to drive down there to process our payment and give us our key. We got the choice of 2 rooms, I picked the one that was closest to the parking lot so we could escape as fast as possible.
The rooms were extremely musty and dirty. All of the other descriptions were very accurate. Hair in the shower, bathroom door almost hits the toilet, cigarette burns on the bed spread (even though its no-smoking), there was mold on the AC unit and walls behind the bed. Everything was extremely musty. I wore flip flops the entire time of our stay. Luckily we had some blankets in our truck to sleep on. There was sand or dirt in the bed. We had to run out and buy a candle and toiletries.
Oh yea, one of the bath towels had a red stain on it. And of course the bathroom was very moldy, I was ready to go out and buy Tilex.
Checkout was easy though, there was a post-it note on the "office" door that said to just leave the key in the room and close the door behind me. I would say the only thing that didn't happen that could have made the night a lot worse was the fact that there were no partying teenagers staying there.
Stay far far away!!!
