we recently had a meeting that lasted three days i had a jaccuzzi room with a king size bed .The company rented the meeting room for 40 people and it was big enough to fit alot more than 40 people in it . The rooms we rented was cozy and nice and clean .The staff was excellent they were great help with finding us a good price and places where we could eat and get extra things . The Phillipsburg inn is a cheap and cozy place to stay

“Give this hotel a brake”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2011

First of all, truckers, and ppl passing thru never complain, in fact we get comlimented. Any where u go u can run into bad heaters but the staff was always willing to switch the room. For the price u pay u get a CLEAN room., and a warm place to sleep. With NO BED BUGS. So if ur looking for a reasonably priced clean friendly hotel stop here. Also if u have been here recently u will see new improved staff and management. And last most certently not least as being called a "halfwayhouse" the phillipsburg Inn has opened its door to ppl in need and is honered by the American Red Cross for commitment and assistance in times of disaster. Temp stays for the needy does not make Phillipsburg any less safe, quite, affordable, and comfortable.

sooo...my actual stay was several times in the summer of 2005, this hotel is not the best place for families no business travel...but I have to say the king bed suites with whirlpool bath are one hell of a place to throw a little party! My friends and I would stay there a lot post graduation so that we could all hang out before going away to college. It wasn't anything too fantastic. The rooms are average, the staff is rude, but if you keep to yourself its a great place to gather a few friends and escape your last year living with your parents. And since I live really close, I still recommend this hotel for cheap weekend escapes.

“Small hotel in desperate need of...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

Small hotel in desperate need of updating. Pillows are literally no more than 3 inches thick and mattresses quite possibly from when the hotel was built. Dark creepy hallways lead you to your room that you'll soon discover reminds you of a college dorm. A very old college dorm that was converted to low income housing. My room was even missing the chair for the desk. I suppose it was drunkenly thrown off the balcony one night and never replaced. I didn't know any Zenith Tvs actually work anymore. Yes this one did however the remote had 7 buttons. Hope you enjoy flipping through every single channel to get what you're looking for out of the 96 channels which is the only positive this hotel has. Do not stay here unless you need a dirt cheap room. The bathrooms are clean but the bedding is so old that not even bed bugs would be interested.

“WORST HOTEL EVER”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

I booked my reservation online about 3 weeks before for Aug 1. Keep in mind it was the busiest time for everything in the area because of Musikfest. I had stayed at the hotel before in 2009 and although it was no Hilton, it wasn't bad and it was just for one night. I thought this place would be fine for my brother, his friend and I to spend the night just for the night since we were working.

When we got to the place, the lady at the counter couldn't find my name and then "magically" found my name on her list. I had booked online 2 double beds. The lady told me this was room and the price. The price was 5 dollars difference in what I booked online and what she told me. I showed her my reservations and she said that "oh our online website is off on the reservations and prices, this is what I'm charging you." I thought at the time it's just five dollars so I went along with it. There weren't many other places in the area because of Musikfest. When she handed me our room key the maid came by and said you can't give them that room a gentleman is in that room. She didn't even know if people were in the room or not! Finally she "finds" a room because she tells me they are filled up for the night and she has to give me Smoking even though I requested Non. The maid told us she would spray the room with air freshener to help out the smoke. It didn't help and smelled horrible. Upon coming to our room the wallpaper was torn and coming up from the walls, the lamp shades were torn, the carpets were completely stained, and there were holes in the restroom. This is what they boasted to be a remodeled room! I decided to take a shower so we could get something to eat. When I turned on the water to hot it was freezing cold. I let it run for about 5 minutes and it was still cold.

I went down to the front desk and told her that I wanted a refund that I was leaving because of the condition of my room and that there was no hot water. She was trying to find another room but couldn't and the only thing she was going to offer was a King Size Suite. That wasn't going to fit 3 people! She told me they don't give refunds out unless it's been 10 minutes or less. I was there a total of 20 minutes. Finally she said okay and gave me cash even though I paid on a credit card. I went back up to the room to get my things and she called me on the hotel phone and said that when I give her my room key back she needs the cash back and she would give me a refund on the credit card.

I went down there to get the refund put on my credit card and she didn't know how to use the machine. She tried calling the manager and apparently he was gone for the night. This was at 9 PM. She told me that first thing in the morning I would get the refund on my card but I couldn't keep the money. I asked for her name but she was reluctant and finally gave me the managers name. She told me good luck with finding another one because there would be no hotels. We did find another hotel!

The next day I didn't get my refund and so I called the following day and asked to speak to the manger. He told me he was sick and that he wouldn't do it that day but hopefully sometime soon and that he was going to do it within the next couple of days. By the following week I still hadn't received a refund and I had called and "he wasn't there" so I went to my bank and filed a discrepancy of the charge. My bank is now handling the situation and is getting the money back.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL EVER! IT LOOKS LIKE A CRACK HOUSE AND THE MANAGERS AND STAFF ARE VERY RUDE. The pictures on their website look NOTHING like it in person.
