My husband and I were attending an ethnic festival in New Jersey, and we wanted to break up the trip by staying somewhere on the way. After reviewing the Isaac Hilliard House B&B website, we decided to book two nights, and add the adventure of kayaking in the Pine Barrens, as suggested on the website. We could "rough it" in the wilderness during the day and relax in comfort in the evening. You certainly can't beat that!
The website also recommended a local theater which happened to be performing during our stay, and we were delighted to attend this event, within easy walking distance of the B&B. A wonderfully entertaining show with a scrumptious, huge dessert.
We stayed in the Cranberry room, located at the back of the house. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner was pretty loud, but we were comfortable enough with an open window and using the ceiling fan in the room rather than running the air conditioner.
This B&B comes with private parking in the back of the house, away from the street, which is a great convenience. There is also a beautiful inground pool for use in the hot weather. Phyllis the proprietor directed us to a basket of pool towels specifically for use around the pool, which was an extra bonus. The towels were large and luxurious, and conveniently located near the door on the way out to the pool area.
Phyllis worked around our schedule regarding breakfast, and we were greeted in a lovely dining room that could accommodate a large number of people.
We were also welcome to use the large living room in the evening where one can find DVD's as well as a myriad of books to read about the area, and games to play, if one is interested.
If you consider the Isaac Hilliard Bed & Breakfast, i would highly recommend calling the proprietor and booking the room personally.
