“Weird experience”

The hotel is undergoing major renovation. And maybe it is a little bit unfair to be to critical. However: No free wi-fi, no concierge, no information on how to get cheap and fast to Manhatten (they must get that question every day, but they had no clue...), worst ever Caesars salad. On the other hand: Nice and friendly staff, and a great banquet dinner at night, and a nice spacious room with good housekeeping.

“Old as an English Castle.”

The hotel is so old that exudes uncleaniness even it's not so. Rooms need t be refurbished immediately because it looks like your grandma house (poor carpets, low lights, dark colours). Quality of bed is good and gym is great. It's a solution only if you spend one night and need not to stay in your room longer. Service not really caring, they should realise that they have to go an extra mile with such a poor looking hotel. Had to wait 7 minutes for the elevator because of construnction work going on.

“Lovely hotel - bad experience...”

When we pulled up to this hotel, we thought - wow - this is really something ! Looks like a castle you'd see in Ireland - Walked in and the lobby was a really big let-down. Nothing special there. Check in was quick and efficient - the desk clerk was friendly and helpful. We requested a late check out the next day - no problem whatsoever.
After check in, we went down to the Tipperary Pub - which, according to the web-site, stayed open until 2:00 a.m. on Saturdays. They were closing - and it was only 11:30 !!! So we got 2 drinks to bring back to our room - (they were terrible) Since the pub was closed, we called down to the front desk to inquire if there were any places nearby we could order something to eat. There was a local pizzaria who delivered right to our room.
Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. - we suddenly hear banging up above our heads - this went on and on and on - I called the front desk who told me that renovations were going on on the 5th floor - right about us - ON A SUNDAY MORNING??? You've GOT to be kidding me! We couldn't take it anymore - so, after asking for a later check out, we ended up leaving because we couldn't take the noise.
I think the hotel should have let us know that there were renovations going on - perhaps put us somewhere where the noise wouldn't be right above us - or maybe had the construction crew NOT come in and work on a Sunday morning.
All in all - was very disappointed - this was supposed to be a nice little romantic get-away and it turned into one disappointing fiasco.

I want to thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us regarding your stay at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel. I would also like to offer my sincere apologies for the inconveniences that you experienced during your stay with us. Rest assured that your comments are not taken lightly.

Our restaurant/pub normally stays open later as you noted; however,at the time you stayed with us the hotel’s business level in the restaurant was such that we closed early. We will certainly look into options to better serve our guests should a similar situation arise in the future.

Regarding the construction noises, while we are certainly pleased and excited about the revitalization plans we currently have underway to transform much of our public space (including lobby, living room and corridors) as well as all of our guest rooms, we try to minimize the impact on our guests during this process. Communication is a key element in this when our guests may feel the impact. We do have information posted on our website, but we certainly should have also made you aware upon arrival. “Nice on the outside”

The first sight you get is amazing, the hotel looks beautiful from outside, However the staff was quite rude, the bellboy kicked us out of the elevator to put some bags inside for other guests, the cleaning lady kicked us out of our room at 9 in the morning so she could clean, we only needed 10 more minutes to leave.

“Disappointing”

From the outside and the lobby, this hotel is beautiful. The room was large and clean, but very shabby. the bathroom was tiny, and there were very few amenities. What was most disappointing, however, was that there was NO free Internet access. Wi-Fi was only in the hotel lobby, and it was free, but was charged it to our room anyway. Plug-in Internet in the room, but for 9.99 a day! Crazy! Also, there wasn't a fridge or microwave in the room, not even a minibar! Beds were old and very uncomfortable. I would not stay there again. This hotel needs a major overhaul to make it competitive.

These renovations will complement our all-new fitness center by Atlantis Sports Club & Spa, which was completed in August 2011.
