“Nothing Special, but close to Beach and Eateries”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

This place is owned by individuals owners who rent out on a nightly basis the rooms. If one were to purchase one of this motel rooms, it would cost you about $75K. Our room's A/C did not work and we were told there was nothing that could be done because the place was sold out. I won't be back because of that experience.

“Nice for a short stay”

The Crossings is a fine place for a quick trip to the beach. The 3-block walk to the beach is no problem at all. The boardwalk is accessible by trolley each night, there is a great playground and tennis courts just a block from the motel, and plenty of ice cream shops and good restaurant options in the same 3 block radius. Beach tags are provided with a security deposit - which is a great perk in O.C.

The pool and staff were very nice and accommodating. Although we didn't ask for anything special, I got the impression they would oblige any reasonable request. I agree with other posts to request a room on the pool side of the motel. Better view and better breezes.

Housekeeping could be improved, but overall, the motel is maintained well.

Room Tip: Request a room on the Pool side of the motel

“Not a bad hotel but we won't be back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

This was our first trip staying at the Crossings, we were there from August 8th to August 11th 2011 Overall the hotel was nice, clean rooms and a nice pool. The only problem is the hotel is 3 long blocks from the beach and nowhere near the boardwalk so if your looking for a place close to the boardwalk this isn't it. We had to drive to get to the boardwalk. Also during our stay the woman at the front desk was very rude when my husband asked for more toilet paper and some tissues, one day he asked when our room would be cleaned and she gave him an attitude. We have traveled to many different hotels all around the world and have never encountered such an attitude. Also on the last day she gave my husband the comment card and told him you better give us good reviews because you certainly were a pain in the butt all week. I don't think asking for some extra toilet paper is making much of a request. Not very professional even if she said this in a joking manner. I know we wont be back normally we stay at the Harris House that is a much nicer hotel and right near the boardwalk that is where we will be next yr! Also in our room we had hardwood floors, my nephew who is disabled almost slipped, I think i it dangerous carpet would be safer. I just feel there are better places to stay in Ocean City!

“Nice little condo motel in a good location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

This little condo motel (outside hallways) is in a very convenient location in Ocean City New Jersey just on the right as you come over the 34th Street Bridge and only about 3 easy walkable blocks to the beach. The rooms are smallish but clean, adequate and well furnished with full kitchenettes (2 burner stove top, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and sink). All cooking utensils are supplied. So you can cook a full meal but it would be difficult to enjoy it in the small room on the tiny dining table. But you could do it. The bathrooms are very small but clean and modern. Room air conditioning worked well and there was a nice wall mounted flat screen tv. Beachy bright decor.

Nice little swimming pool and large game room with a shelf of books to borrow. I liked that. Free coffee is served in the game room in the morning. That was a nice touch.

There is a nice bathroom/ shower/changing room that is available to guests on check out day that still want to use the pool and beach. We took advantage of that which is a great amenity. The hotel supplies beach tags if you leave a security deposit. Also a great amenity and a nice savings for a family.

Front desk staff are nice and helpful.

Plenty of free parking but fills quickly in the evening if the hotel is full. We always found a spot though.

Hotel is in need of some sprucing up on the exterior; like fresh paint and also our door to our room kept jamming and was hard to open without a struggle (the wood swelled from the humidity it seemed). I think other rooms had the same problem.

Our room faced a power station (electric company?) right across the street so not a great view. Next time I'd ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel if available.

The closest beach to this motel has restrooms, a foot shower, a water fountain and a life guard/patrol station house. So it is well equipped. The board walk is not near here so you need to drive for the boardwalk. The boardwalk itself begins about 12 blocks away but the part of the boardwalk where the shops and activities begins is about 24 blocks away.

All within a block of the hotel is a CVS, a Wawa, and an Acme. And then Within a couple more blocks are several shops (including a fudge shop and large souvenir store), restaurants, gas stations, and a great park with basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic tables under trees and lots of play equipment for kids.

Overall great value for the money (when comparing to other hotels) at the beach.

Room Tip: Ask for room on the opposite side of power station, the pool side, if available for a better view.

“Not a bad Shore Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

We stayed at The Crossings Condotel for two nights (7/18 & 7/19) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The place is typical of most small & older motels at the NJ Shore. The room (#324) we stayed in was pretty well maintained. It had two double beds, small table w/2 chairs, a bathroom & small "kitchenette" area. Lighting in bathroom was not good. The air conditioner unit was a loud when you were trying to sleep. The place does have a pool, but we didn't get in it - taken over by kids splashing around - so you could not just relax in it. Some kids were allowed to "dive" in the deep end by their parents although signs clearly stated NO Diving. I like kids, but I don't like when their parents let them do things they shouldn't do - especially unsafe things. But oh well...

The place is totally non-smoking - but that's OK with me. It is a LONG walk to the "promenade/boardwalk", but there is a trolley you can catch! It is nice that there is a Wawa, CVS, Acme and restaraunts next to the place. Th people working there - front desk, room service - were all friendly and polite.

Good place to stay for a quick get-a-way to the shore. Not sure I'd want to stay there for a full week.
