“Comfortable and relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

This was the first time we stayed at a B&B and we were a little nervous about the stay. Those nerves went away as soon as we arrived. Owners, Bonnie and Dave, were very nice. We stayed in the Heather Room one night and the Magnolia room for two nights. Both were very nice. Our favorite was the Magnolia room. It was bigger and the king size bed was beautiful and COMFORTABLE. When on vaction my wife always wakes up between 5 and 6 am with no alarm clock. This was the first time EVER that she slept in! Breakfast was great! And not only because of the food, but the company, the beautiful house and the hospitality of Bonnie and Dave made for a wonderful morning each day. Every afternoon Bonnie had tea and cookies on the open breezy porch. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed an extra night. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

“We loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

We are a family of 4 , 2 adults and 2 children. We stayed in the front ground floor apartment which is under the B&B.
The owners were very accomidating and friendly.
The apartment was nicely and tastefully decorated and clean.
Since we stayed in to eat a few nights I really loved the kitchen area. It is beautiful !
The appliances , utensils ,dinnerware, pots and pans etc. were all either new or very good qualily.
Over all we were all very happy with our stay at The Bayberry Inn and would recommend
it to a friend.

“Our first experience at a Bed & Breakfast was a great one at the Bayberry Inn in Ocean City, New Jersey!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

My husband and I had never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast Inn until our stay last week for 5 nights at the Bayberry Inn located on Wesley Ave. near 8th St. in Ocean City, NJ. WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME! We really didn't know what to expect, but here is what we found: a quaint little hotel with 8 different super-clean, super comfortable rooms. Each room has its own bathroom and either a queen or king bed. (We stayed at the top of the stairs in the "Rose Room," and the Pansy Room next door to us looked really sweet). There's also free parking in a lot adjacent to the Bayberry Inn. The amazing Ocean City beaches and boardwalk are less than 2 blocks away. The energetic, super-friendly Bayberry Inn proprieters Dave and Bonnie also provide beach towels, beach tags, and beach chairs AND... a wonderful, home-cooked breakfast every morning at 8:30 am. Breakfast begins when you hear "Pearl" (Dave & Bonnie's little dog) barking for you at the base of the stairs (she's not really loud enough to wake you up) urging you to come down to breakfast to sneak her a nip of bacon or a bit of muffin. You will be served delicious juices, freshly-brewed coffee, tea, baked eggs, sausage, perhaps french toast topped with cinnamon sauce -- every morning is a new "Martha Stewart-like" experience. The neatest thing we discovered about this B&B is that you actually get to meet your fellow guests! Unlike in a motel or hotel where you never really speak to anyone around you, there we were -- half-awake at 8:30 am, sharing our stories about everything from raising children to where to go for the best seafood in Ocean City. After breakfast, many of us would move to the huge porch where even more coffee and juice awaited us (and each afternoon, you'll find iced tea and cookies there). We also slept well, REALLY WELL, at the Bayberry Inn. Maybe it's the fact that we were sleeping in a big, comfortable old house filled with beautiful antiques that's been a home to so many generations... or because we were just so tired from the invigorating sun, sand and surf of Ocean City at the end of each day, we simply passed out into our comfy bed each night. Another bonus about the Bayberry Inn: it's much less expensive than staying in an overcrowded, noisy Ocean City hotel or motel. And it's quiet, peaceful, and restful. Each room has it's own air conditioner unit, so you can contol the air temp., which is nice. Fresh towels every day. A mini-refrig. and TV in each room. The only drawback we found was that if you are elderly, there are some stairs to get into the house, and also stairs to get upstairs to the rooms. But having met Bonnie and Dave and experienced their kindness and positive, CAN-DO attitudes (they also own a B&B in New Holland, Pennsylvania) - near Lancaster) they would probably find a way to carry you up the stairs if need be. Overall, we had a fabulous experience at the Bayberry Inn, and we will definitely return. A little secret: Dave and Bonnie do a New Year's Eve Dinner each year, which sounds super-fun. Might be worth a trip to OC in the dead of winter for some much-needed glad tidings and joy!

“Holy fabulous breakfast, Batman!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

Bonnie and Dave Konya, the owners of the Bayberry Inn, are two of the loveliest people I have ever had the privilege of meeting. They are kind, accommodating and hilarious.

The rooms are very comfortable, but you won't spend much time in them, seeing as there's so much to do in OC; Bonnie and Dave's recommendations of places to go on and off the island were always stellar. Their spirits always seemed to be up, even after a major thunderstorm caused the Inn to lose power! Even in that situation, they were prepared with flashlights and food for breakfast the next morning.

One of the best aspects of the Bayberry are the traditions that Bonnie and Dave have upheld in all the years they've owned the place, such as cookies and iced tea on the porch every afternoon. Bonnie's chocolate chip cookies are, without question, some of the best on the East Coast.

There is no doubt that I'll stay here again for my next visit to the Shore - that is, if there are even rooms available.

“A Wonderful Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the Bayberry Inn with our daughter, who joined us from Boston. However, her flight to PHL was delayed nearly 6 hours and we didn't arrive at the Bayberry until 2:30 a.m. We had called ahead to tell Dave we'd be quite late and he arranged to leave a note with instructions and parking pass on the front door and keys in our room doors.

Dave and Bonnie are lovely people, who really make you feel like you are at home, not a visitor. The breakfasts were delicious and creative; we even bought a copy of Bonnie's cookbook. The rooms were comfortable, and included a refrigerator and free wi-fi. We enjoyed the cool breezes on the front porch and the afternoon treat of homemade cookies and iced tea. Free parking and beach tags are provided. The beach is only 2 blocks away and the B&B is near the Music Pier and many of the most popular Boardwalk attractions and eateries, as well as in-town restaurants and shops.

It was oppressively hot during our stay, capped off by a violent thunderstorm that knocked out power for a few hours. Dave and Bonnie handled it very well and we ended up having a nice time chatting on the porch until power was restored.

We could not have been happier and are already looking forward to our next stay at the Bayberry Inn.
