“Disappointing”

Stayed in the Cabin Room earlier this month and booked with a Groupon. We specifically picked the Cabin Room due to the lovely photos and the draw of the fireplace over the hot tub. Unfortunately, the fireplace did not provide any heat at all during our stay, despite it being left on for hours. The evening of our stay was bitterly cold outside and our room was not as warm as it could have been. My boyfriend called the innkeeper, who advised us that there was a small ceramic heater available for our use in the room, however, we had booked the room specifically because of the fireplace and it was very disappointing that it was not usable. The bathroom in this room is impossible due to an over-sized basin sink (which is so large that it is actually difficult to stand in front of it and close the door at the same time). The hot tub is quite small for two people and we were not comfortable using it as much as we would have liked. We did not see the innkeeper once during our visit and there were absolutely no staff anywhere when we arrived. We had to call the innkeeper to ask questions about the facilities and it felt like we were inconveniencing her due to her stating that she was with her children.

The facility was somewhat charming and the building is in fair shape. The location would be convenient for an in-season stay due to being close to the Boardwalk, however we had a block and a half walk in 20 degree weather to the suggested parking area due to the innkeeper's issues with the neighbors. Breakfast was very good. However, overall I would have been incredibly angry and disappointed had we paid full-price for our stay.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I do apologozie it was chilly in the room. The outside temp broke a record low on your visit. Would you like to try another room?
Please also note:
I let this guest know exactly where the thermostat was a couple feet from his door. Im very honest in my description and size of each room on my web site. I am the first to say this room is quite small. Upgrades are offered at a reasonable rate to all Groupon holders.

“Great getaway!”

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Ocean City Mansion! It was a super relaxing and fun trip. We stayed in the Honeymoon suite which was great. The two brookstone massage chairs were so comfortable and the suite was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend that suite - especially with the off-season deal that we received. The B&B had a lot of charm and fun little touches that shows that the owner really cares about the place! The breakfast was very tasty both mornings - french toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon on day one and a delicious omelette on day two. The weather just happened to be freezing when we were there, but we had fun driving to the different towns along the shore and checking out the Atlantic City scene. I am sure that the Ocean City Mansion and the shore overall is even more fantastic during the spring and summer, but we certainly enjoyed our cozy time there. Thanks Nancy!

“GREAT place”

My husband and I booked a 2 night stay at OC mansion. Everything had to be perfect. And for the most part, everything was! The room was immaculate (despite what some unsatisfied reviews said) I am ocd and I didn't see one issue with cleanliness. The breakfast was less than decent. very small, not hearty, (frozen sausage, cheap stuff etc). That would really be the only complaint we had. I would DEFENITLY go again though! The town is the cutest place, we want to move there! We saw Nancy only ONE time during check in and did'nt even get to say goodbye at the end , which I thought was strange.

Thank you for the review. I really appreciate it. Yes. I am guilty of not being able to mingle with the guests as much as I like.
It is my favorite part of the business. There is just so much to do to make a living at a B&B. Shopping, cleaning, housekeeping, maintenence, calling plumbers, payroll, emails, laundry, the list is long! Thank God for me it is a labor of love!
Thank you for staying here and I am sorry your sausage was frozen before cooking. It would be so wonderful if we had a little Amish market on this barrier island!

“Ocean City Mansion in October”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

My husband & recently spent a relaxing weekend in one of our favorite places - Ocean City, New Jersey. It was a beautiful weekend as the weather could not have been more perfect & the B&B was in a great location with a quiet neighborhood, yet walking distance to the beach. The staff was friendly & courteous. Our room was very comfortable, clean & had all the necessary extra's. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the porch in the early morning & hot tea & coffee offered throughout the day. It was the perfect getaway for us to retreat to the beach for some peace and quiet. I am sure anytime of the year would be enjoyable if you like the beach! We would recommend Ocean City Mansion. It has a lovely "homelike" feeling. Thank you Nancy!

Thank you so much for this review; I recently hired a new housekeeper and YES i need to check every nook and cranny after the job may seem complete to her.
Breakfast...gosh, I here is our typical breakfast we have fresh fruit, homemade baked good, hot house dish (unless special request) The dishes are omelette, sausage, bagel ,homefries. On another day house dish may be Homemade waffles with bacon and scrambled eggs.. We really work hard to make a dish all would eat. I hope you come back and we promise to do a much better job and serve more food and be impeccable. Thank you.
