We stayed at the Lollipop this past weekend. The place was in a great location and only 2 blocks from the beach. It is nothing fancy as it is just a motel; however, the rooms did have a refrigerator, microwave and stovetop so it is great for a family that wants to save some money by making food in the room. The staff seemed really nice as well. I do have a couple complaints thought. 1. Our door had to be slamed for it to shut properly. When the maid cleaned our room she did not slam the door so our door was cracked open all day. Luckily my important items were not in the room, so I wasn't as upset when I discovered that. 2. A friend of the manager's was a DJ. He ended up bringing in huge speakers and played music really loud one day. When we were trying to swim in the pool we ended up having to get out because the music was just too loud. In addition, the music he was playing had some racey lyrics. My child is too young to understand it, so that didn't really matter for us. However, I could see how that would be disturbing to a parent of older children. I was really suprised that music went on for as long as it did especially for a motel that is trying to advertise itself as a family resort. Because of the above events, I will probably try to stay somewhere else next time I am in Wildwood.

we had stayed at the lollipop for over 25 years.new owners took over last year 2009.aweful at best.cheryl who ran theplace for a long long time was the very best and was a big part of the reason we kept going back.as a matter of fact we had to prepare my little girl who was seven at the time of our vacation last year that cheryl was no longer there because we knew she would be terribly upset and she was and she cried.the new owners were cold and non caring and had not a care that my family and I had spent over a quarter of a century staying at this establishment.did not seem to phase them or impress them.seemed very unmoved when we inquired about cheryl and our time spent there.we always requested the same room and one morning sitting in front of our room one of the new owners made a remark about not liking summer and could not wait til the winter so he could ski.{ why did they buy this hotel than???} a child had thrown up in the pool and no evacuation of the pool UNTIL board of health showed up.end result we wil not be back to this motel nor will our money.Our average stay there was at least 11 days.it is a people business at the very least research your client list and know who has supported your new business and treat them as such.we have a choice and the resources to stay where we want we chose the lollipop for all those years for sentimental reasons and great hospitality.the lollipop and it's new owners will go forward as we will also but what a shame it is.

My husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at the Lollipop. We were given a one bedroom unit that had two double beds in the bedroom and a pullout sofa in the living room.
It is an older hotel but the kitchenette was newly renovated. The sofa appeared newer as well. The beds were comfortable and the extra pillows were a welcomed treat! The bath is older but the fixtures were updated. The only complaint is that the showerhead really needs to be updated and a new curved shower curtain bar would be really nice. Otherwise, all was perfectly fine.
My only complaint about the Lollipop Motel is the pool. The water temperature was way too hot! The thermometer read 97 degrees. But, the pool area itself was nice. There were a lot of chairs and was very clean.
The area is quiet. It is located away from the boards and the beach. There is a great restaurant across the street and a fantastic hoagie shop nearby, Russo's. All in all it is an enjoyable motel for a quick beach getaway!
And when in Northwildwood be sure to grab a Maui Dog...or two!

Wildwood has come along way over the past few years. A group of about 20 to 25 of us stayed at the Lollipop Motel for the weekend to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday, and it was cheery and perfect. The rooms were very clean (though when we arrived, they smelled a little too strongly of lemony cleaning products). Each room had a small kitchenette, a sofa sleeper, a TV and a view of the pool. The bathroom was tiny, but clean and adequate. There were no frills -- no mini shampoos or shower caps or hair dryers. The decor was just what you'd expect from a beach house/motel -- oil painting seascapes with seagulls, artwork made out of little shells. If you plan to drive down on a Friday after work, leave plenty of time. I left from Philadelphia around 7 and arrived just before the front desk closed at 10. The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome. They let us stay in the pool after the usual closing time of 8pm. We had a BBQ on the terrace for the whole group. Check-out time was 10am, which was pretty early. A few people checked out a bit later and didn't appear to have any issues. The beach and the north-side begining of the boardwalk are just a couple of blocks away, as are skee-ball, cheese fries, roller coasters and tram cars. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice weekend getaway with friends and family.
