We were staying here for 1 night to go to a concert at the prudential center and it was the worst experience ever. We arrived at 3:15 and check in was at 3. The front desk sent us on our way to the 3rd level with our room key. When we got to our room the rude cleaning lady screamed at us. She was telling us that our room wasn't ready and we needed to not go in our room. We went back down stairs and they sent us to another room. The room was 89 degrees the whole time. We had the air on all day/night and it never got any cooler. We found ants all over the bed. Hair in the sheets, condoms behind the night stand, and the worst thing a USED CONDOM under the office table in our room. This room was disgusting and the help was rude. The neighborhood is not the best either. I would not recommend this place.

I stayed with my family not knowing it's 100% smoke-free. I like that, I really like that but smokers don't know and smoke anyway. The smoke travels through vents, etc and affects the other rooms. Wish they would let customers know it's non smoking. Rooms and bedz were clean, except some towels were faded. I didn't use those ones. They need to give sparkle white towels. Lobby is nice, location not the best but livable. Management is super nice.

I booked this hotel thro itravel2000 but apprently there was some misunderstanding between them and the hotel so when I called the hotel there is no reservation for me. The hotel communicated with the travel agent and solved the problem on the last day. Anyway, I got a good price $70-80 per night and a free upgrade(for the hustle) .

Large hotel room, clean; AC is a bit noisy.

Perfect breakfast, I've never seen such a great free breakfast for hotel at that star. It was the first time in my life I don't need to shout at my younger kid to finish his breakfast. Plus, the serving lady is very nice too.

Location is great. I did intensive research before I booked this hotel coz I don't want to drive in Mahattan and I can afford staying in the Mahattan hotel either and this hotel is 10 min walk from Newark Board Street Station (from where you can take the NJ train to New York Penn in 20 min with $5 ticket)

Free parking: it actually save you a lot of money.

There are a lot of restaurents in that area with in walking distance, and most of them deliver. My family order Chinese food everyday for dinner and the price is unbelievable and quality is high (Maybe my view is biased because I am from Canada)

Entrance/Exit to the hotel is a bit weird though, be careful esp. when you are exiting and turn right coz it is a steep uphill and usually red light in a short distance.

I will definitely book this hotel in the future if I visit NY city again.

Not a bad room, everything was very clean and the breakfast was above average. Got my free newspaper, plenty of parking. Would not recommend the actual location, next to the downtown industrial area of some sorts, but, plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Hey, it was off the main beat, downtown Newark and it was sleeting and snowing both days. The weather didn't help. Lots of trash along the streets and sidewalks, the locals don't care about keeping their city clean I guess and it shows.

The only problem encountered is I forgot my razor. When I went to the lobby and asked the front desk help if I could take them up on their offer for free "toiletries", he looked like I had asked him out on a date or something. He shuffled in a shoe box for a long time, I think hoping I would leave, and then produced one. He kind of had a little attitude, I guess he never gets asked for toiletries. .

Oh, make sure you don't stay by the elevator. You'll hear the "DING" it makes every time it goes by or opens and closes. Not cool at 2 in the morning......
