We live at the NJ shore and, as warnings about the impending landfall of Hurricane Irene continued, decided to make reservations at this hotel to wait out the mandatory evacuation we were under. What made the difference to us at this hotel was the hospitable way everyone was treated; the front desk and housekeeping staff were very accommodating. The weekend breakfast lady was amazing--a real gem! Many of us took advantage of the comfortable lobby and front porch areas while we waited for the storm to come our way. There was no price gouging (as we heard happened at other area hotels). Our room was very quiet, adequate-sized refrigerator and microwave--very pleasant. The carpet and walls could use some attention but that was overshadowed by the cordial atmosphere.

i just wanted to let people know that this hotel has bed bugs and the staff is rude. i was in room 152 switched to room 151 also had room 148 had 6 people in these rooms and 3 of them had bites. the housekeeper cindy is super rude and does not have any right working customer service. i called the hotel 5 times and the manager (steve the gm) will not call me back. i called corp. and got 1 lady to talk to me and now nobody will solve my problems. they still have not called me back and my stay ended aug 16. so if you want a decent stay in this area it sure isnt this place. i have worked in the hotel industry for 5 years and so unnaceptable..............Tara Gomske

The room was definately in need of updates. The carpet had spots that were worn bare and it was badly stained all over. The furnishings looked like they were purchased at the salvation army as it was scratched and dented. My parents had the room next door and it had a bad odor. My room had a small refrigerator and microwave but theirs did not. We were staying there on our way to Cape May, NJ for a USCG Graduation and it was convenient to the highway which is the best thing I can say about this hotel.

Nice hotel. Rooms smaller than expected, but still enough space for us. There was a decent sized mini fridge with freezer (large enough for 3 ice packs) and small coffeemaker. The pool was large and there were plenty of lounge chairs and tables in the pool area. The hotel is a U shape and the pool is in the courtyard in the middle, so it is not seen from the road or parking lot.

We drove to OC and found it took about 30 minutes with minimal traffic. We had some issues with other guests being loud in the pool area until 3 am, and the manager and desk staff were extremely apologetic and offered appropriate assistance in making this right for us. We will definitely go back to this hotel.
