“BED BUGS!!! GROSS!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

DIsgusting! The first time I've ever had such a bad horrific experience at a hotel! I was awakened in the middle of th enight to my body itching like crazy. When I turned on the lughts, my body was covered in bed bug bites! Even on my face (near chin area). I immediately called down to the desk and the rude receptionist that they had there simply said "There's nothing I can do except give you another room becuase I'm th eonly one in charge in the building." Just to show him exactly what I was was going through I went to the desk and shwed my bites and demanded at least an apology and some sort of remorse But all I got was "All we can do is give you another room". Since I Was so tired from my trip from that morning I had no choice but to sleep in another room and wait until the manager of the hotel arrived in the morning. So when the manager arrived the next day, I explained everything to him and he said he checked the computer and hadn;t noticed any reports of bed bugs from house keeping and he assured me that they always do a thorough cleaning. Let's just say I have hime a piece of my mind. NEVER AGAIN WITH ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH COMFORT INN!!!!!

“Dirty ... never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

One word ...DIRTY ! Linens weren't changed, carpet wasn't vacuumed, alarm clock had been stolen, and the place smelled ... odd. This whole chain has really taken a turn south !

Room Tip: Don't go here

“Just Average Property”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

We have stayed at this hotel every other year over the past few years and have seen a steady decline in the state of the property. It is just looking rather shabby these days, with bed linens that are well worn. That being said, our room was 'fairly' clean and the bed was comfortable and the gentleman at the front desk was friendly. We were underwhelmed by the complimentary breakfast--the bare bones of what Comfort Inns offer. This breakfast bar had a four slice toaster with only two openings working. Wanting toasted bread meant quite a wait. The gentleman providing the food at breakfast was cheerful and replenished the food as needed---but the bottom line is that the food is not quite tasty. If you do decide to stay here, you must know how to get back to the hotel when you leave the property. It is very tricky to get back on route 1 and then to the hotel. You will need explicit directions. Still, if you desire a reasonably priced room, not fussy about what you eat, not picky about having an older, smallish room, this may be the hotel for you.

Room Tip: ask to have a room with a refrigerator/freezer. Some rooms do and some don't. If this is impor...

“Blood on the Carpet”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

I volunteer with an organization that was doing some work recently in central New Jersey (due to Hurricane Irene.) To save money, the organization booked rooms at the Comfort Inn.

After checking in the motel on Monday night, one of our volunteers went to her room and after settling in, removed her shoes to relax. She then stepped in something wet.

Upon examination, she realized that it was not water that soaked her sock. It was blood.

Yes. Blood.

She went to the front desk, where the manager moved her to another room. Upon going to that room, she found the room filthy - crap in the toilet, wet towels, unmade bed. This was at 9:30 pm.

As for me, I had arrived at the motel at 9:45 pm that night and found that my name was not "on the list" of people who needed rooms. After taking one look around the lobby - and after being harassed verbally by 3 teenagers outside the front door of the motel - I told the manager to not worry about getting a room - I'd go elsewhere on my own dime.

The rest of our group quickly left the motel and moved to the Hyatt down the street, and the police department in Princeton/Lawrenceville were contacted, to file a report on the blood.

I would give this motel ZERO stars if I could.

“Dirtiest Hotel I have Ever Stepped Foot In. DO NOT SLEEP HERE!”

I arrived to this comfort Inn after traveling from Boston to New Jersey that morning and working a full day. I chose the Comfort Inn since I have had luck in the past with the chain. I travel quite a bit for work. However, this hotel is old and does not keep up with cleaning. Upon entering the lobby area, I noticed some stains on the floor and the entrance mat was worn with stains. I should have known that the rest of the hotel was the same if not worse. The room decor was dated with old curtains and bedding. There was a smell of dust in the air and something else I could not pinpoint. The fridge in the room had a couple of hairs from someone else in it. I turned on the a/c unit and suddenly a fine mist of hazy dust emanated throughout the room. I almost could not breath. I immediately checked out and checked in to the Double Tree down the street where the staff was much friendlier and I could breath a sigh of relief upon entering a very clean hotel room!
