“Beautiful Hotel - close access to the PATH”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This is a beautiful hotel right on the water with wonderful views. We stayed for two nights and spent most of each day in NYC, but the rooms were clean, and comfortable. The lounge is large ans spacious and offers dinners and cocktails/snacks and has a spectacular view. We had one problem with our luggage. We came in early and our rooms were not ready, so the bellman took our luggage and said it would be locked up for the day until we came back from the city and checked into our rooms. When we came back to the hotel after a long, fun day in NYC at 11pm, to our shock and dismay, our luggage was still sitting on the rolling rack in the main lobby, where it had sat all day, unattended. Nothing was missing, and the hotel was very gracious in that they reduced our room rate for both nights to try and make up for the oversight. I woud stay there again, but would make certain that they locked up my luggage before leavig the hotel instead of relying on their assurance.

Room Tip: Our room had a view of the statue of Liberty and the water taxis, going back and forth to Manhattan.

“Perfect place but forget the pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Jersey City is very suitable for starting your visit to NY. You get a splendid view of the skyline of Manhattan from the breakfast room, but do not expect to have it from your room, except you are planning to stay in one of the very expensive suites. The pool is not nice either and it is closed during the night. There is no shower beside the pool and no changing room either, so you'll have to go back wet into your room. The gym is small but it is open 24 hrs. which is ok. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, good sleeping quality. The breakfast room is spectacular, breakfast cost extra but don't miss it, it is the highlight of the day, except for the aircon. which is freeezing... The reception of the hotel doesn't look nice but the service is absolutely professional and friendly. All in all, and despite these little details, I highly recommend you this hotel.

Thank you for the perfect rating and for all of the highly valuable feedback! We are thrilled to see how much you enjoyed your stay and we are glad to know the areas where we can exceed your expectations on your next visit to Jersey City. When you do make your way back from Switzerland, you may enjoy one of more moderately priced Skyline View rooms which offer the same view as our best suites. Danke!

“Beautiful View of Hudson and Manhattan SkyLine from our Room!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We stayed here over MLK Weekend at a Special Rate of $99 per night that I booked through HYATT.COM!! (Normally $199 per night before taxes).

The front desk offered me late check out and free internet because I am a PLATINUM GOLDPASSPORT Member. And they gave me a superior room on the 8th floor with a super view of THE STATUE OF LIBERTY!! We could see the water ferry coming and going from NYC, too. At night, Manhattan glitters across the water -- looks so close, which it is, when using the Path Rain ($2.00 each way) from the Hotel to WORLD TRADE CENTER. The ride is no more than 7 minutes one way.

The room was big with 2 double beds, a large flat screen TV and desk area for writing/laptop. There are dedicated outlets for phones, laptop on the desk top, too. The coffee maker had only one CAFFEINATED packet so we had to share. They never gave us more than one. The second day we noticed we did not have any wash clothes-- had to use a hand towel in the shower. Our TV remote had weak batteries that eventually died. We wanted to watch in-room movies which have to be ordered using the remote. The Hotel Operator told us Maintenance would arrive in 15 minutes. They never came.

Otherwise, great hotel with VU Lounge that offers more of the incredible view of NYC. We had hot toddys as a nightcap and our server provided a free bowl of assorted nuts, too.

It was incredibly cold during our stay-- only 23 degrees and 16 degrees F when we checked out. The Hotel stays nice and warm. In face we had to open our window to let out some heat on the last night of our stay. Nice to be able to open them for fresh air.

Check out was a breeze. There is a deli across from the Hotel where you can get breakfast for cheap. We took the Path Train and Subway ($2.50 per single ride) to JFK for our departure, which took no more than 1.5 hours from start to finish. AIRTRAIN connects with Subway at JAMAICA STATION or HOWARDS BEACH-- $5 fee to enter AIRTRAIN or leave it-- so be aware.!!

Can't wait to stay here again-- cheaper than NYC hotels and bigger rooms!! Nice staff and easy access to the city with beautiful gorgeous views!! I love being PLATINUM with Hyatt!!

Room Tip: One small note-- our room was below the Wedding Halls and bands start to practice early around 10 AM...

It is great to see a post from one of our very own Platinum members! I am glad you enjoyed your overall stay, but want to apologize for the breach in service. We have very strict standards for a timely response to guest requests and this clearly does not meet it. Although we are very happy to have you back, I hope to get in contact with you before your next stay so we can note your preferences on your profile and ensure a seamless experience. If you have a moment, please give me a call at 201-469-1234 as I would love an opportunity to connect with you directly! Thank you again for your feedback and your stay and I will look forward to speaking with you soon!

“What an incredible hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

The location and view are perfect. Adjacent to a subway stop one can get to Manhattan as well as Newark airport easily and cheaply. There is also a ferry terminal close by as well. Lots of good restaurants surround the area and the convention staff are very helpful. Rooms were well appointed. The only drawbacks were that the walls were a little too thin and the exercise room lacked a lot of equipment.

Thank you for the incredible review! The accessibility of our hotel is certainly a major advantage, but it's great to see your comments in regards to the convention services as well! I am also very intrigued with your preferences in the gym and am wide open to any feedback or suggestions regarding equipment. It is a Hyatt standard to have state-of-the-art equipment in every fitness center and we want to make popular selections as well. Thank you again for the endorsement and we hope to greet you with an even better experience next time!
