This is my 3rd stay at a candlewood property in the past 3 months, and I can now definitely say that the Intercontinental Group has a problem with this brand. They should dump this brand as soon as possible, because the properties are uniformly in bad shape, totally out of date, in desperate need of overhaul and need to move from being stuck in the 20th century to the 2st century.
The room and the bathrooms have 1960 / 70 style soapstone counter tops, Delta fixtures, boxy TVs, ventilation system that makes a racket all night long, and mattresses that sag.
Ina ddition this particular property had the following flaws:
1. Why does any one, no matter how long they are staying, need such a big refrigerator?
2. The main door latch did not work properly.
3. The heating system did not work properly. The heat would only crank up beyond 75 and then it would become a sauna. If it was set at 74 or below, there would be cold ait coming from the vent!
4. The key access and exit to the parking lot is impossible to get to while in the car. It is very impractical to get in and out in freezing weather.
5. As a Platinum member, there was no upgrade or any other benefits.
6. The towels are very strange quality.
7. There is no daily housekeeping,a nd this is not mentioned either on the web site, or in the reservation confirmation or at the time of check in.
