“Bed Bugs”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2010

All in all, it was a terrible experience that got a lot worse once I realized the red bumps on my arms, hands, and stomach. Starting from the beginning, it did take the GM of the establishment over 30 minutes to get 3 people checked in, myself being one of them. When we got to the room, I inserted the key card and turned the door handle, only to realize that the door would not open....it was warped. So I had to lift up on the hinges to get in, i definetly was not going back to the front desk to waste any more time to get another room. The place looked very dirty! Hanging towels did not look clean. Bathtub/shower was gross! There was a partition that consisted of a painted piece of plywood and a couple pieces of 2x4's....who thinks this is ok..I hope they did not hire this work to be done. Bed was uncomfortable and later determined to be full of bed bugs.
We were going for value, not luxury. But we will definetly spend the little extra money next time and stay at a Marriott.
This was just gross!! Never again!

“Hotel & Staff were a nightmare!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2010

When we first arrived at the Quality Inn, the lobby and parking lot were quite crowded -- there was a concert nearby that evening and the hotel was clearly full of concert-goers (myself & my husband among them). There were two people working at the front desk but it took us over 40 minutes to get checked in. Our friends went to the restaurant, sat down, ate their food, and finished in less time than we spent standing in line. After we finally got our room assignment, we went to get settled in -- only to find that there were already people in the room we had been given. We went back to the desk to ask for another room (which took another 20 minutes!), and while my husband was standing in line, two other parties came up to the desk and said that they had also been given rooms with people already in them. When we eventually got another room, we found that THIS room was destroyed -- pictures torn off the walls, bed broken and tossed against the TV stand, and condom wrappers and boxes all over the floor. Yes, condoms. My husband went back to the front desk (this time quite agitated), and as he was standing in line (for another 15 minutes), he told the people next to him (who were ALSO having trouble checking in) about what had just happened. The lady at the front desk sarcastically said "Pretty juicy story, huh?" and then told him very loudly and condescendingly to "Settle down." The third room we got was dirty -- hair all over most of the towels and in the shower, but by then we had given up. Also, none of the ice machines worked at any point during our two night stay.

No apology. No remorse, no offer of compensation. This hotel is a disgrace, even for the $60 we paid. I've stayed at even cheaper hotels with much friendlier staff and more comfortable rooms. We weren't expecting luxury, and chose the hotel primarily because of its proximity to the the Susqehanna Bank Center, but a clean, unoccupied room at staff that was at least cordial would have been nice. The desk staff was very rude to many of the concert attendees, which is unconscionable considering that at least 75% of their business on the two nights we were there was because of the concert. This hotel sucked.

“Would Stay Again!”

I would very much stay again. It's not a four star place but it suited our group just fine. Our rooms were great. When there was a problem. The staff helped right away. It was very close to good eating places. Nice Breakfast. Very nice pool. The only change I would like to see since the rooms are outside, Clean the spider webs on some of the railings. And brighter lights going to the rooms. We will be back again next year. Thanks a bunch Quality Inn!

“Great cost-had a perfectly fine stay"”

My hubby and I stayed here while visiting Philly. It was cheaper to stay here and not too far from downtown Philly. I was skeptical because of the bad reviews the hotel received. (but we are very cheap!) I was pleasantly surprised at how nice our stay was. No problems, front desk staff nice. Plus free wi-fi and free breakfast(decent food too!) Also had a little coffee machine, fridge and microwave in room. Only concern was that our dead bolt was broken. Door was all jacked up. Other than that, great for it's purpose! Would stay again!

“WORST EVER STAY OF MY LIFE......DO NOT DO NOT STAY HERE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2010

a scary place, visited end of december: temp. was 20 degree F outside, and guess what, no heating..they changed the room soon after and now, no hot water in the room: they said the furnace was off. (I wonder how they do not comply with the minimum standards during the coldest days of year!!)
and the funny thing, when the wireless internet went off suddenly and i called the front desk, she gave me 1-800-XXXX number to call for technical assistance about wireless...

I'll sum this up: DO NOT stay at this place.

Thank you very much for staying at our hotel Quality Inn of Gloucester City, NJ. I apologize that your experience was anything less than satisfying. Feedback such as yours assists us in improving our service and property on a daily basis. To satisfy the guest in the best possible way, our staff is advised to change the room. Due to cold freezing temperatures, the water must be kept running before the hot water would start.
