“Great Hotel”

We stayed one night in this hotel with 2 kids and it was quiet, clean, and more than we expected. A good value for a 3-star hotel. It has recently been renewed so the lobby looks great, with a screen showing Newark Airport departures. We did not use any of the services (coffee shop, room service, concierge etc), so cannot say much about it, but it seemed like a well-rounded place. Rooms were upgraded, flat screen tvs, clean bathrooms, no unpleasant smells to greet you when you open the door. Beds were very comfortable with many pillows, not your standard 2 pillows per bed.

As far as the parking, if you validate your parking ticket at check-in I believe you do not have to pay, but double check with the front desk. It is kind of a hassle to get places while you are there (i.e. going to eat out, breakfast etc), but a couple trips will get you used to it.

Overall, we loved the place and would stay there again, as long as we can get a discounted price again!

“Smooth as silk”

We booked a room at the Crowne Plaza at the Newark Airport for our trip. We went through a service called “Trinity Reservations” and booked a park and fly deal. We have flown a lot in the past and have booked parking separately and then searched for the best hotel rate near the airport. This time we were blown away by the deal and the ease at which this process moved.

We arrived at the Crowne Plaza and the check-in process was smooth as silk. The room was great, the front desk staff were outstanding. The check out went even easier and there was a shuttle RIGHT THERE to wisk us to the airport to start or vacation. I cannot imagine that I will fly out of Newark again without using this process or this hotel. The fact that we watched the New York Football Giants beat the Niners only made the trip better.

“Good for one night”

We missed our connection and had to spent the night in Newark. Got this hotel from Hotwire. Could have selected a cheaper one, but I didn't want to go below 4 stars. The hotel is old and tired, but the staff was very friendly. We had a great guy helping us at the front desk with check in. I think he was from Brazil, but I don't remember his name.

The interior is very worn out, but the beds were comfortable.

“Not As Bad As I Heard”

I have to admit that after reading some of the reviews of this hotel here, I certainly was worried about my upcoming stay. It's nowhere near as bad as I heard. Yes, there were problems making my reservation. They still didn't send me an email confirmation after calling and asking for it three times. Then, a week before my stay, I called to confirm and they told me they didn't have any reservation for me! Hard to believe. Turned out, after spending 15 minutes on the phone, the reservation agent realized they left the final "e" off of my last name. That's all it took to make my reservation invisible. For all my trouble, they gave me a complimentary upgrade. Once I got to the hotel, I found the front desk very warm and friendly - characteristics I have found in short supply at other NYC/NJ airport hotels. In my room, however, there were problems with the remote control (they brought up a new one) and the air conditioning (it would go from hot to cold every 20 minutes). In their dining room, I had the vegetarian pizza which was amazingly yummy, though quite cheese laden. (I simply removed some of the cheese and found it rich with green bell peppers, onions, black olives and more. And the waitor was also amazingly friendly. The only problem was that there were numerous stains on the rugs and the tablecloths. (They really need to do something about that.) But the price of this hotel was great. So I found it an acceptable hotel stay for an overnight when you need to be close to the airporet.

“Short business trip”

I stayed here for 2 night in January 2012 as I was in Newark for business. The hotel offers a courtesy bus every 20 minutes from the airport. Check-in was quick, easy and the staff were happy and extremely polite. My room was on the 7th floor and I had a view ofvthe highway and part of the airport. A little traffic noise could be heard but nothing that kept me awake or disturbed my sleep. I used room service for dinner on one occasion and would give thevsteak burger 8 out of 10 - lovely! I had had breakfast in the room, plenty of choice and prompt service. The room was spacious with king bed, desk area, sofa and table. Massive tv too! Room was very clean and reasonably modern. I chose this hotel for location to my meeting and also the airport. If visiting Newark or New York for any length of time please consider where this hotel is located and the travel options you have for getting downtown. For me, it was ideal and I would certainly recommend I for short stay business travel. They have a small shop and cafe just off thevreception area too - very convenient.
