“Just not Marriott quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I stayed here last week. The next day after my stay, I received an e-mail from the GM asking "How was your stay?" I wrote the following e-mail expecting some sort of contact in return. To save myself some time, I will simply cut and paste my e-mail. It tells the facts.

Mr. (last name removed as a courtesy), Being a frequent business traveler and Marriott user, I must say your hotel was one of the most disappointing hotels I have stayed at in quite some time. To be fair, your lobby was nicely done over but the rest of the hotel is seriously in need of updating.

The carpets were stained and the mildew smell in the shower curtain was to the point where I had to keep the bathroom door closed. I stayed at a Courtyard in Albany last week that was exceptional. My stay at your hotel makes me question my loyalty to the Marriott brand. I have to be in Edison once every other week for the rest of 2012 and I will not be staying at your hotel.

I am a loyal Tripadvisor user and I strongly feel I always give a very fair assessment. Your hotel simply is not good. Lastly, and not a big deal but I reserved a king size bed and extra pillows. Neither were available. Thank you for your email.

“Good service! Nice spacious room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Staff was friendly, Ann from the reception has been very courteous and as very helpful and knowledgable with nyc points of interest, we were treated special even only for a couple on nights stay. Clean rooms except for the highway noise, not far from the airport. Will be staying here again next year. Unfortunately the pool was closed the time we stayed there, they should have told us this when we reserved the room.

“Average hotel, excellent service”

The location isn't the most convenient, and the hotel itself is pretty average, but the staff were outstanding. The front desk and restaurant staff were very helpful with special requests at a time when they were very busy. You will need to drive a few minutes to find food or anything else outside of the hotel.

“Really, really good.”

Quiet location, but close to highway. Updated, modern, great room and bed, huge TV. Internet was pretty strong. No room service, but the bistro was sufficient for myself and would be for most anyone. Got a great Thursday night rate of $99. There are no restaurants or convenience stores within walking distance. There looked to be a couple of diners and restaurants close by. I don't know where the poor reviews are coming from on this hotel - what are you people looking for, The Four Seasons for $100 a night? I've stayed in hundreds of hotels, I wish they were all like this one.

“Pretty average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

The place was decent and clean...however, I have more complaints than compliments.
The good. Parking was easy and close. Hotel was clean, staff friendly. Price per night was reasonable.
the not so good. They happy hour was weak. Two beers were on special prices, and they didn't even have one of them. And the prices were very expensive.
The showers we very weak and the towels way too thin to dry off. Bed not too comfortable.
If you have to be in the area, probably a good choice though.
