I stay at this hotel for the first time oct last year ,the hotel is luxurious modern and well apointed it was great ,the room was beautiful with a great view of nyc and the king size bed was fit ...well for a king .the staff was very helpfull friendly and smart .They have a free van service to the train station so you are in the city in about 10min and they will pick you back also. The train is very clean and safe . There is a Starbucks inside the hotel.Parking is free in the property . I spend all day in NYC had dinner in the city and come back to the hotel. There is a pool with a large jacuzzi that was the perfect end for my days .You will paid about $400 dollars a night in a comparable hotel in manhattan so this is a great value . I already have my reservation done for April this year :-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a city view in a high floor

“A gem! Affordable, great amenities and easy access to the City with free parking.”

I loved my stay at the Sheraton! I live in Michigan and drove to NYC and stayed in this great hotel. I recommend it whole-heartedly. The rooms are very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. I love, love love the fact that it has a Starbucks right in the lobby, and it has a great hot tub and pool. It is such a smart affordable option for visiting New York City. One of the main reasons is the reasonable price for value and the fact that it has free parking! Add 30.00 per day to the price of a room in the city for parking which already is going to be a much more expensive hotel room itself on top of the higher price and you really see what a great value this is location. To get to the city they have a free shuttle bus to the train station, it's really a quick drive too. The train when I was there was maybe $2.25 fee each way and its the very next stop on the line (so its only a couple of minutes ride) and you are already at Penn Station in NYC where you can get out and walk (I walked to Times Square from there and many other major tourist sites like MoMa, or empire state building) or get onto the subway line or catch a cab as if you had a hotel next door to Penn Station.

The customer service is top notch, they were very helpful with directions to the Jersey Side of the Statute of Liberty which I did, it was close too. Its a great choice if you are arriving there by car and want a modern hotel experience at a tremendous value.

“You can tell a lot about a hotel by the number of reviews...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

... They have. As of 2/1/12, this hotel received 215 Very Good and Excellent reviews and 121 reviews that were deemed "Terrible, poor and average." Using this equation, 2 out of every 3 people who have stayed here and reviewed their experience on tripadvisor have really enjoyed their stay at Sheraton Meadowlands. I wrote a review a few weeks ago about this place, how I stayed here for 5 months and really enjoyed the staff, especially Lynn Woods who is your "in" at the hotel if you ever need anything extra. I was about ready to move into my own apartment when a deal fell through. Looking at different options in hotels across the area, I decided to go back to the Sheraton Meadowlands for a quick 10 days until my next apartment would be ready. I was wondering if people would give me the same level of treatment I had received when I initially stayed here - and the answer is shockingly: No. Instead of being treated as a long term guest at the hotel, I was treated like I was a first class guest. Anything and everything that could have been given to me, I got. Before I even arrived at the hotel, Julie at the front desk knew I was coming and arranged for a King sized room for me. Lynn Woods, as so many people have commented about her on here, was once again happy to oblige to any request I had. One night my computer's wifi went kaput and the hotel's "Link" system was down overnight for upgrades so they night manager Leyla let me use one of the computers at the front desk so I could access my e-mail account and print out a critical document. Amber, Ann-Marie, George and many other of the wait staff were happy to see me and instantly knew what I wanted to eat before I even ordered it. And after taking a cursoary look at their menu, I saw they added quite a few items that help give you nutritional information and advice when you're ordering. They also added new dishes to the menu, which I was happy to sample. I highly recommend the shrimp with garlic and tomato sauce. How nice is it that you don't have to find some place else to eat and that the chefs in the kitchen of this hotel know how to prepare the most delicious dishes. Even as I pulled up in my car, the valet people at the front entrance of the hotel recognized me and immediately jumped to help me - and I've never tipped them before! They weren't doing it to earn a few bucks for themselves, they were doing it because well, I actually needed the help. I told them ahead of time that I couldn't tip them - and it was irrelevant to them. They just wanted to help and did so. I loved the service, the rooms were always huge compared to other hotel rooms in and around NYC, a restaurant, a starbucks, a bar... but what I loved the most was, I was always 10 minutes away from the city. All I had to do was hop on a shuttle bus which took me to the train station and from there I went right into Penn Station, which is in the heart of NYC and I'm doing this all for $159 a night. I mean, if I went into the city I would be spending at least $40-$50 more a night, be spending more money in taxes and fees because it's NYC, and the rooms would be much smaller. The people that work here from Jessica and Natalie at the front desk, to Lynn Woods, to the restaurant waiters and waitresses, to the valet people who are on their feet all day helping people with their luggage who are fresh from a multi-hour flight... Everyone here works and works hard. I know where I'll be staying come the Superbowl in 2014 (did I mention this hotel was right across the street from the stadium where the Superbowl Champion Giants and Jets play??) By the way - when I decided to stay here again, I learned that management prints and posts these reviews for the employees of the hotel to read. The good, the bad and ugly. So for whoever is reading this letter at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel and Conference Center: Thank you.

Room Tip: The burger here is the best burger in NJ! Ask for Lynn Woods!

Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to share your experience. I am really pleased to hear that you enjoyed yet another visit to the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel & Conference Center, and felt as well taken care of this time as you did last time.

While what you say about the number of reviews is true, the equally frustrating thing for a hotelier is that (as a society) we seem so much more likely to provide negative feedback rather than positive, thus skewing the results of a site like this. I do not mind the negative feedback, as a matter of fact I welcome it; I just wish that more of the folks who utilize this site to gather information for an upcoming trip would then use it to post their positive experiences, along with the negative ones, after their visit. I also wish these sites did not keep reviews dating back for years, (2004 in our case); things change.

As you mentioned, we do post these reviews for all of the staff to see/review, and this one will be no exception. I will make sure it gets posted and shared w/ Julie, Lynn, Leyla, Amber, Ann-Marie, George, Jessica, Natalie and the rest of the team.

Thanks again for the feedback. We hope to see you again soon (under better circumstances!).

“Great Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We spent one night at the Sheraton Meadowlands; we had tickets to see a Broadway show and we didn't want to pay the high Manhattan prices. Thls was perfect: close to NYC but quiet and out of the hubbub of it.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the room cleaner, or the experience nicer! (We had stayed here before, and it was just as good)

The bed was especially comfortable. I took a rest when we first arrived, and it was hard to leave the room to go out to dinner before the show. Well, I forced myself!

In all, this was a terrific, well-managed hotel. To quote Messrs Rodgers & Hammerstein, "this was a real nice clambake, and we all had a real nice time!"

Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to share your experience. I am pleased to hear that you found the location convenient, the guestrooms clean and comfortable and the staff friendly.

As for the beds, they are the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper…the BEST! They include a Simmons custom Sweet Sleeper mattress, luxurious 300 tread count sheets, a deluxe duvet and a selection of feather/Down & hypo-allergic pillows. Check out our website to take one home!

Thanks again for the feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to be of service again in the future.

“Great Stay !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I am writing this review because I want it to be helpful for the benefit of those who read reviews before deciding to stay at a hotel. Initially, I was a little apprehensive when reading other reviews, however, upon arrival I was asked at the front desk how was my day so far - my reply was lousy. The person replied well now relax your at the Sheraton. I thought that was so nice - and they lived up it every word. A special thanks to the Director of the front office - Eric Paul. I was so impressed that he remembered my name throughout my 5 night stay. I definitely recommend this hotel the staff is warm, the shuttle drivers were very accommodating and overall I had a wonderful stay. Thanks to all.
