“Nice Hotel. Horrible Staff.”
I consider myself to be pretty easy going in general, but the staff here really need an attitude adjustment. My wife, me , and my 17 month old arrived about 9:30 PM on 9/24 and there was no one at the front desk. We waited for a bit, at which point my son (who was asleep), started to wake up and cry. My wife was going to wait until we got into our room to breastfeed, but since we didn't have one, she found an out of the way spot instead. I then got the room and found my wife. Since she was breastfeeding, and we hadn't eaten, I took out the rest of a slice of pizza while I waited for her to finish.
This is when things got obnoxious.
I went to the restaurant in the back to get us water - and the women there was nice enough to let us know that the water is less at the front desk. I then went to the front desk and tried to buy the water, at which point the women at the front desk told me to hold on, and went to the women at the restaurant and took her to the back room for what I can only guess was to yell at her for not ripping us off.
Then she came back front (and passed my wife). She then told me that my wife can't breastfeed there because there are other children around and that I'm not allowed to bring outside food to the hotel. When my wife confronted her about this - and told her that she was being discrete and that it was LEGAL to breastfeed in public, the women just said again that my wife was being inappropriate.
So between the water incident, the breastfeeding, and us bringing outside food in - Marriott sure made us feel welcome. And to top it off the extra accommodations we asked for for our 17 month old when we made reservations weren't in the room. I would have asked front desk, but they had already made us feel like crap.
All in all, yes, this is a nice hotel, and the room was nice as well, but with staff like this - I'll take my business elsewhere next time.
