“not sure if the good outweighs the bad”

We camp often, and this is the first time we've been to BTL. Pros= Plenty of activities for the children, free coffee in the morning, a good size swimming pool, available canoeing, and mini golf. Cons= The staff was not helpful, and very rude when we asked for anything (we locked our keys in the car and they were so iritated that we asked for a wire coat hanger). We stayed in a cabin and it was very costly, there was no refridgerator, no microwave, no tv (even if you bring your own you have to bring a cable too or they charge $10 per night to rent one!) - we have stayed in cabins that have all of these ammenities. There were so any biting flies due to the pond aka stagnant water right behind us I had 64 bites the first night we were there (yes, I counted them in the shower!). They said the pool was heated - it wasn't. Guests are charged top dollar to visit but there was no room for them to park at our site. The sites are very small and close together. The bathrooms are very unclean. You are charged for showers which are as cold as hose water for the first half and then scalding hot the next. OVERALL the kids had so much fun, but the flies and the nickle and diming were outrageous!!!

“Has everything you need and close to many attractions.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2010

The people were very friendly. I took advantage of the Aqua exercise class in the morning and got to meet some fun people. The other campers we met became friends. The pull throughs are nice and convient or if you like the other sites are very level and spacious. There are walking areas which I took our dog for a walk every morning. He totally enjoyed the walk. We like the little cafe, which a lot of campgrounds don't have and all the activities that are offered.

This has been one of the best camp grounds in south jersey i have ever been too! the staff is so friendly and helped my husband when we first got there with our new camper. We got there and my husband was having some trouble backing our new camper in. I went to the office to give my husband some time without the kids to get the camper in and when i told the ladies we were waiting for him to get done, they got in the walkie talkies and sent someone over right away to help him. After that everything went great from begining to end. the kids had so much fun and met alot of friends. It was a great place to spend quality time together!!

“Best Place for Families!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2009

We just returned from our trip at Big Timber Lake and we had an excellent time!!!! Tons of activities for the kids, clean facilities, and a very large campsite with plently of shade. Its a little pricey but we feel it was worth it for all the fun our family had together. The staff was very helpful in directing us towards local attractions. The lake is not is big as we thought but our son caught a 15 inch bass! Our trailer has a bathroom but whenever we did go into the bathhouse we found it to be very clean with plenty of toilet paper which used to be a problem for us when we used to camp at other campgrounds in a tent. We plan on returning next year with our friends and highly recommend this campground for families with young children! our kids loved it!

“Okay campground”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2009

An okay campgroup. The place has great potential and a nice wooded area. The biggest problem is the nickel & dime stuff. Just about everything is a extra small charge, even 25 cents to take a five minute shower. One dollar to borrow a beach tag for the day, but they run out by 9am so get there when the office opens.
