“Filthy and Rude”

we stayed for 2 weeks and were evacuated due to the Hurricane, losing 2 nights of our vacation. When we enquired for a credit or refund we spoke to the owner Chip Menz who started complaining about our tent we had (which was a screenhouse) due to the excessive amount of mosquitos. and did not want to refund our money. After we persisted he told us never to return again.. we are banned for asking for a refund!! also it was a filthy place we would not want to return too. pool was green showers filthy, bugs excessive and the lake smelled like sewer.. don't let the beautiful pictures fool you... find another place and save yourself disappointment. no wonder it was empty in August.. !!!!

“Could not have had a more helpful staff!”

This was our first camping trip in our newly purchased used 2002 Flagstaff pop-up. It turned out to be a Griswald type of trip. While opening the camper, the main cable snapped (ten year old camper.... it was bound to snap at some point). The maintenance guys from the campground and one of the owners came over and muscled the top up so that we could camp for the weekend. We loved the campground and the activities for the kids were great. My kids particularly loved swimming in the lake and kayaking. At the end of our weekend, the staff again helped us lower the top. Our weekend would have been a disaster without their help.

“Best trip ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

My family and I went to Big Timber Lake for our first time this year. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The facilities were so clean! The whole campground was beautiful. I can't wait to come back next year!

“It was a great campground, recommend to all”

I wanted to write this review, because I have saw negative reviews on this campground.
When we arrived the check in staff was great and nice, pleasant and full of knowledge.
I found my campsite to be big, woody and firepit with ring already there. The bathroom that was close to me was air condition and very clean. I have to say you have to pay a quarter for about 10 min shower, but I would pay the quarter for the amazing clean bathroom. The pool was nice and comfortable and clean. The activities were great. The golf course was nice and kept up. They had a snack bar with arcade. Laundry facilities was very nice and it was connected to bathroom, so it had air. The entertainment and extra activities were enjoyable. They had extra amenties, that I won't mention that saved on my trip. I loved when you pulled in, the office and bathroom, acarade are all together, it looks like a little town. They also had an Adult internet room/ reading area. Loved it. Would recommend this place to all.

“not sure if the good outweighs the bad”

We camp often, and this is the first time we've been to BTL. Pros= Plenty of activities for the children, free coffee in the morning, a good size swimming pool, available canoeing, and mini golf. Cons= The staff was not helpful, and very rude when we asked for anything (we locked our keys in the car and they were so iritated that we asked for a wire coat hanger). We stayed in a cabin and it was very costly, there was no refridgerator, no microwave, no tv (even if you bring your own you have to bring a cable too or they charge $10 per night to rent one!) - we have stayed in cabins that have all of these ammenities. There were so any biting flies due to the pond aka stagnant water right behind us I had 64 bites the first night we were there (yes, I counted them in the shower!). They said the pool was heated - it wasn't. Guests are charged top dollar to visit but there was no room for them to park at our site. The sites are very small and close together. The bathrooms are very unclean. You are charged for showers which are as cold as hose water for the first half and then scalding hot the next. OVERALL the kids had so much fun, but the flies and the nickle and diming were outrageous!!!
