“Another fantastic stay at The Queen Victoria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Once again, The Queen Victoria Inn with Doug and Anne Marie at the helm, did not disappoint. First of all fantastic location, just a few steps from Washington Mall with great shopping and fantastic restaurants to the left and the beach to right.
The Inn itself. I cannot say enough about this place. Every detail is down to a perfect science. From the pantries with complimentary juices, water, coffee wine glasses, mugs, even to-go cups (love that) to the friendly accomodating staff to, the beautiful buildings (4 in total) and meticulously maintained grounds complete with little gardens, lit pathways and courtyards. There was even an umbrella in our room in case of a chance of rain. In the evening a basket of towels, bath products and little plate of sweets were left for us. Nice. They have thought of it all. We love The Osborne in the Queens Cottage which is located across the street from the main building. Antiques, a lovely sitting room shared by the other room in the building, comfortable bed, big bath tub. The staff are all very friendly and full of tips and information on what to do, where to eat etc.
Breakfast in the main building is where we were greeted by our host Doug who is so wonderfully friendly and so helpful. The food was wonderful, homemade jams and breads. A wonderful egg bake sausage patties, fresh juice, fruit... all good. Doug gave us a suggestion for the Cape May Winery and even gave us a little map. We missed afternoon tea this time around, but in the past it has been wonderful. Sweet and savory treats, I walked over with my glass of wine and made friends with the other guests. Part of the charm.
This was our 4th stay at this very special property. I'm already looking for dates in October and Feb of next year. We are so looking forward to it, in Cape May we would never stay anywhere else.

“Wonderful Anniversary Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Just stayed for two nights at the Queen Victoria in Cape May for our anniversary. Yes it was off season and very quiet. We stayed in Osborne suite in the Queen's Cottage. No one else was in the building (has 4 rooms altogether in this building). Our common room became our living room for the stay. There was always coffee, tea, soda, juice available along with some type of goodie. Breakfasts were plentiful and the Afternoon tea was a treat. All homemade goodies (except for english muffins and bagels). Our room also had a gas fireplace (very warming) as well as a heart shaped jacuzzi for two. Great place to stay in Cape May.

“Old Victorian plus doting staff”

Traveling in the off season certainly has it's benefits. Cape May is very quiet. Our room was the Osborne, which was separated from the other room by a 'common area' (unoccupied when we visited). The common area had just about everything one would need when traveling. Wine glasses, mugs, openers, V8 and an assortment of sodas and bottled water. A Keurig coffee maker and ice maker. Afternoon and evening treats as well. We had a fireplace and double tub. We were given access to all the Queen Victoria properties(they have 4). Breakfast and afternoon tea were served at one of their other properties. The location could not be better. We took advantage of the bikes that they have on site-free for guests. House keeping was outstanding. Very efficient. We had a great time.

Room Tip: Call ahead to ask which level and building your room is in. If stairs in your thing, call ahead and...

“Perfect for off-season stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I am writing this review about a year after our stay, but it was such a wonderful experience i feel compelled to tell others. First of all i LOVE victorian style houses so Cape May was the perfect place for us to stay and the Queen Victoria lived up to our standards. We stayed in the Balmoral Room, which is in the Queens cottage building. This was a good choice for us as it provided the most privacy out of any of the other buildings. There are 4 rooms in this building 2 on the first floor and 2 on the top floor with separate entrances for each floor. We also had a private parking spot so we did not have to find parking elsewhere (it was off-season so parking was plentiful). We had a very cozy common room on the first floor with couches, books, magazines and a pantry area that was constantly kept stock of treats and drinks. We used the wine glasses, wine bucket and opener that were also available to us. Our room was perfect and cozy, the bathroom was spacious and included a 2-person whirlpool tube with towel warmer and separate stand-up shower. All services and ammenities included were perfect. The breakfast and afternoon tea had so many unique and tasty selections that it was difficult to just eat one dish. My boyfriend and I love tea so we tried the various flavors that were available, and loved how unique the flavors were. since we went off-season we had the pleasure of speaking with other guest and getting extra personal attention from the innkeepers. We were granted a tour of all four buildings by doug with other couples and he even explained to us a few ghost sighting that other guests had reported in some rooms. During our stay i believe 3 out of the 4 rooms in the Queens Cottage, where we stayed, were occupied. We did not see or hear any of the other guests throughout our stay, which was fantastic as we wanted a nice relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast when in Cape May. We would like to go back in the future for their Murder Mystery Weekends!

Room Tip: Stay in the Queens Cottage for privacy and excellant accomodations

“Another wonderful visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We've stayed at the Queen Victoria many times, and our stay over New Year's was again superb. Every aspect of our stay was outstanding--amenities, hospitality at breakfast and tea, holiday decor, etc. Thank you, Doug and Anna Marie, for a very memorable New Year's!
