I had a great stay at the John F. Craig House just before New Year's Eve, and would definitely go back for my next visit to Cape May. The innkeeper, Barbara, was very accommodating and friendly, when I inquired about a room on the day of my arrival to the area. The room/bathroom was very comfortable, cozy, and clean, and I am extremely particular about where I stay when I travel. The house was beautiful, and a block from the beach. I wish I had been able to extend my visit!

Room Tip: The inn's website includes photos of all available rooms.

“RELAXING”

Happy New Year to everyone reading this review! This is the place to stay. I have never written a review before but this I had to write. My Husband and I decided to go away for New Years and never stayed at a B & B will try anything. We have visited Cape May and always wanted to see and stay in one. We live 1 hr away. Well i will cut to the chase. We arrived and rang the bell and was greeted by a very lovely Inn keeper (Barbara) we introduced are selves and off she took us to meet the other people sitting around talking and having coffee. She never missed a beat on names, and talked fondly of them. Then showed us around and REALLY made us feel like we were family, not guests. Told us to "make yourselves at home, this is Cape May time." There was a guest kitchen open at all times for snacks, soda and all hot drinks, fresh cookies too (sooo good). The house made me feel at home and very relaxed just want we wanted and needed. Then she showed us to our room (3rd Floor) which reminded me of grandmas the really hard wood floor that creek. What another great feeling when we opened the door, very cozy and antique chairs and dresser. Decorated very lovely. gas fireplace and little kitchen. (if you are really tall this room may not work because of the way the ceiling is but it wrked great for us 5'8). We came and went and relaxed in the main living room and had coffee, other guest would come and talk to you and Barbara and Chip would come and say Hello too. Tea time was very nice and we had some awesome chili that Barbara makes every New Years Day since she was 19, and shared it with all. They really make you feel at home with the service. The breakfast that she prepared both mornings were delicious and plenty of it, you dont leave hungry. Very informative about the area and were to eat. We missed going to the beach on New Years eve to toast and sing (we were sleeping by 1100), told you we were relaxed. But what a place, will go back not just in the winter either. Also with in walking distance to everything. Can't say enough, but Thanks to Barbara and Chip for making our trip memorable!!

We stayed at the John Craig House in Cape May the week before Christmas. It is always hectic getting ready for Christmas. My husband and I decided to take a break and stayed at this most delightful B&B!!!!!!!! It is everything the brochures said. Adorable, quaint, cozy and all resplendid for Christmas. Chip and Barbara were our gracious hosts and they were just wonderful! Chib and Barbara welcomed us into their home. The Grand Tour was so pretty, especially the Christmas Tree in the "front parlor"! We met the other guests and had refreshments and winearound 5pm. Delightful!!! Our accomodations were very comfortable, and our room was decorated also. Had a cute Santa cap on the top of the bureau. Breakfast the next morning was awesome!!!!!!! Chip and Barbara know how to put on a breakfast buffet. We highly recommend The John F Craig House for your stay in Cape May. We will return!!!!! “Great place to stay in Cape May”

You can't do much better than the John F. Craig house in Cape May. Barbara helped make it an even better stay which wouldn't of been too hard because of the overall charm and location of the inn.

Location - not sure there is a better location. You are within walking distance of everything. A short walk to the beach, shopping, and fabulous restaurants of Cape May.

Room/House - charming. Clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated room. Our room had a very interesting narrow bathroom but it didn't bother us. We were barely in the room. This was our first time to Cape May and it must be out of a story book.

Food - very good. We had delicious mini waffles and sausage with lots of toppings one morning and a quiche the next. Loved the waffles & sausage. Every evening Barbara serves up a different cocktail on the porch. A great way to unwind after making your way around town during the day. She'll give you lots of tips on restaurants and is happy to help make reservations. All recommendations were fantastic.

“Parade Weekend Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

The John F. Craig House is a warm, comfortable and beautiful bed and breakfast in Cape May! This is our fifth visit to this particular B & B and it is indeed a treasure. Chip and Barbara are wonderful hosts and guests truly feel as if they are "home". It is within two or three blocks of the finest restaurants and shopping. Truly one of the finest Bed and Breakfast Inns anywhere!

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful.
