“Lovely Victorian Home; Excellent Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This victorian home is lovely and you cannot beat the location and on-site parking. My husband and I stay in the Parlor Suite and it is perfect for the two of us. Another PLUS for us is that it does NOT include a daily breakfast. We like this feature because we enjoy eating out at nearby local restaurants who offer great breakfast/brunch options. We could always opt for fixing our own breakfast in this apartment-style suite, but we don't cook on vacation! We do enjoy the use of the refrigerator for keeping beverages cold and the occasional use of the microwave. Love the first floor access to the wrap around porch. Owners are gracious and helpful, but not intrusive. Book early as this is a popular choice!

My family has stayed at the Columbia House in summer, Fall and Winter. It is beautifully decorated for each season. The owners. Laura and Jim, go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Any questions, they are quick to respond.

We have stayed in the Parlor Suite and the Master Bedroom Suite. Both are beautiful in their own way. Clean, beautifully but comfortably furnished, you feel right at home.

Room Tip: If you want to be absolutely certain of quiet, choose the turret room. If you need larger accomodati...

“My Favorite place to Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

I have been staying at the Columbia House for about 8 years now. My daughter and I come in October and stay in the Parlour Suite and in December I bring my grand daughters and stay in the garden suite. I have stayed in other places in Cape May but this is truly my favorite place of all. Laura and Jim couldn't be any nicer. They always make us feel so at home. I would highly recommend the Columbia House to anyone who wants to stay in a clean , warm, comfortable home away from home!! Thank you Laura & Jim

“Back for thirds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

This was our 3rd visit to Cape May and The Columbia House. We find this particular accommodation perfect for our needs. We like being extremely close to the action: the beach, shopping on Washington Mall, & the beautiful streets of Cape May. The Columbia House is smack in the middle of everything. Each time that we've visited this inn, we've stayed in the master bedroom. It's a beautifully decorated room and extremely spacious. Jim & Laura, the owners, make it very easy to come & go without the awkwardness often experienced with overly managed B&B's.

The Columbia House is a Victorian Inn without the breakfast component. To be honest, my wife and I are both pretty careful with our eating so the whole carbohydrate-laden muffin/french toast type breakfasts don't work for us. Again, without the assigned mandatory breakfast hour, we come & go with mealtimes that work for us.

We love the Columbia House...our home away from home.

“Perfect choice in Cape May!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

We rented the master suite for a week. What a wonderful accommodation and location! The house is a proper Victorian less than a block from the beach, and <10 minutes walk from the pedestrian mall in the center of town or pretty much anywhere else. The suite was beautiful and unique, just right for 6 of us (in 3 bedrooms). Given the small living room and limited table space I would not recommend more than 6 even if allowed. The interior decor was lovely, but we also loved the front porch swing, beach chairs, wireless internet, onsite parking, and well-stocked outdoor shower. Would strongly recommend for couples or families visiting Cape May.
