“clean rooms and great location at a great price”

We have stayed here numerous times through the years and have tried several other places in Wildwood Crest. This is our top choice. Management staff (Janet) is always pleasant. Rooms are large with microwave and minifrig, small round table w/2 chairs ,and are always very clean and the price is very good.
Motel is small: one story with no indoor hallways and offers several larger accomodations on the second floor facing the ocean. They have a website that you can view each of the rooms and even book the room of your choice online. Off street parking lot in back of motel allows you to park without having to deal with meters in town.
Motel is an easy walk (it will take you about 15-20 minutes) to the "downtown" or pedestrian mall where stores, restaurants, and bars are located. Motel is across the street from the beach. You can walk to town along the promenade running parallel to the beach! Parking meters throughout town are hungry so being in a place where you can leave your car parked is a real plus!
Tip: check out George's Restaurant--they have the best breakfast in town!!
We also visit Rick's Seafood in North Wildwood which is only a take out place but have some of the BEST seafood in the county. Flounder is always tender and moist and the fried shrimp are so big they butterfly them! a flounder/shrimp combo consists of several nice sized pieces of fish and 5-6 large butterflied shrimp so it's really like getting 10-12 shrimp! It's best to order ahead especially in the summer but we get our #1 seafood dinner, take it back to our room, and use the table for dining. We pick up a bottle of margarita and we're all set! Can't beat it! Another plus...this place is open for most of the winter and offers great off season rates. Air conditioning and heat in rooms have always worked great. Take it from someone who was born and raised in the county but now lives in the South. If you don't care about a fancy place but want a clean room in a motel across from the beach....try it..you won't be disappointed.

“Great location... good value”

Stayed one night in an ocean view room. The location is ideal - across the street from the beach, and walking distance to town, but far enough away that it's quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free parking is convenient. The rooms are clean enough and a good size. The furniture and bathroom are dated, and the bathroom is smallish, as you might expect. Overall for the location and view I'd say it's a very good value at their price.

Room Tip: Room 24 = nice view. Book early through their website.

“Great Location, Comfortable and Affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2011

Stayed here for our second time and loved it! Had our 8 month old with us and truly enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and walking distance to restaurants and attractions. Some may be put off by the distance to the outdoor mall but we live in the city and walk everywhere so the blocks seemed to fly by when looking at the old architecture!
Motel is well priced and the staff was friendly and helpful. We will be staying there again soon and may make it a yearly trip to stay with them!
Things to think about:
no pool
parking is in the back of the motel, so unpack in the front if you have an ocean front room.
be ready to buy your own beach tags (Cape May is relatively cheap for a daily pass)
showers are located in the back of the motel

We went there for my son's Coast Guard Graduation. No one was there but everything we needed was available. Hotel was cozy and comfortable. We had a great view of the beach right across the street.

“I love this hotel and will be back”

The Buckingham is a reasonable hotel on Beach Drive with a gorgeous view from the second floor. The price is much lower than the other hotels by about $30 a night. The only thing you give up is a pool, and I don't want a pool anyway.

Now, if you are looking for a new hotel with lots of amenities the Buckingham isn't for you. It's a quaint, small town feel hotel. The office closes at night. There are wall units for air conditioners. The outside is brown.

But,. the view, the view and thre view along with the location, the location and the location, a friendly staff, clean room, small refrigerator and even grills if you want to cook out \, what else could you want.

Close to beach. Beach Chairs, Beach Rest Rooms, Pretty Sunsets, Has Parking. Costs less, but yuouu don't give up much if your goal is to enjoy the beach in a clean, reasonably priced setting.
