“We have to go back...!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

After scouring the web and asking several friends about where to stay in Cape May, we decided on the Bayberry Inn for out "babymoon." I needed a private bathroom and wanted to be close by to everything, yet not in the center of the action, I also wanted parking on-site. Bayberry was perfect. The breakfast was super and the innkeepers were friendly, fun and helpful.

Room Tip: Call and ask what's available. The internet is not the only way to find out!

“Perfect Base From Which To Explore Cape May”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

Bayberry Inn is a place to go to relax and take your time. If you expect differently, then you might be disappointed. But if you are prepared to start your days a little slower and linger over coffee, then you won't be disappointed.

Centrally located, Bayberry offers easy access to the pleasures of Cape May, but is just far enough off the main drag to avoid much noise. Our room was just above the front of the house and we still slept through all three nights. The rooms are perhaps a little small, but Cape May and the surrounding areas are to be explored and enjoyed----not avoided. Overall, they were clean, comfortable, and cozy.

The house offers a shady side porch and a sunny front to sit and read, which are comfortable places to relax if you want to avoid the crush of people. The side porch also has a refrigerator for guests, making a convenient storage for leftovers, wine, and cheese in case you prefer pack a small lunch than brave the restaurant hordes.

Breakfast was a three-course affair, usually fruit, a typical sweet or savory breakfast dish (e.g. french toast, waffle, or frittata) with a bit of twist, and something special to finish. The food is neither too sweet or too savory, and generally perfectly filling. It is delivered at a leisurely pace and guests are seated together around a long table....enjoy the food and the company.

Last but not least, the owners are fantastic people who balance sociability, respectful distance, and service as best suits the occasion. They are what make Bayberry Inn a delightful stay and an experience worth going back to.

“What an incredible stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

What an amazing weekend. Staying at the Bayberry Inn was a perfect way to celebrate a special anniversary. Toby and Andy have the gift of hospitality and everything about the place says, "Welcome, we are glad you are here." Toby's breakfasts are 5 stars - not to be missed. We stayed in the suite and felt pampered the whole weekend, from the plush robes, to a relaxing soaking tub, to a fireplace, a sweet window seat, and more. A whole floor to ourselves! We will return and and enjoy their special touches again.

“The Best B & B in Cape May”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

I recently stayed at the Bayberry Inn with my sister and mom for our annual "Mommy-Daughter Getaway", and would stay here again in a heartbeat! This beautifully restored, historical home is warm and welcoming. Andy and Toby, the owners and hosts, have created an environment that provides all the creature comforts, but also maintains the historical charm of Cape May. The breakfasts are simply AMAZING...3-courses, all home-made, starting with fresh fruit, a sweet or savory main dish, and dessert! The upside-down french toast was so perfect, my mouth waters just thinking about it! The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable (although our air conditioner was a little noisy), and the location is ideal for shopping and the beach. We love the Bayberry Inn and will be back!

“A Delightful Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

We went to Cape May for bird watching and were extremely pleased not only with the birding but also with the Bayberry Inn. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, the breakfasts were extraordinary, and the location central to everything. Even though it is located in the heart of downtown Cape May, we found the Inn quiet and restful. We were particularly taken with the screened-in side porch which overlooks a secluded garden. The innkeepers were very amiable and helpful in orienting us to the Cape, a welcome factor as this was our first (but clearly not our last) visit to the region.
