“You get what you pay for”

Let's keep it in perspective: It's a hotel room for $69/night. So, it's not going to be like a Hilton or Marriott property. It's more like an old motor lodge in a seaside resort town, under the pine trees. Some rooms are better and newer than others. Our room had some mold in the bathroom. Other rooms look like they were recently renovated, cleaner and much larger. Forget about the "free breakfast" in the lobby and just go to Lynda's Breakfast Place less than 1 mile away.

Room Tip: Ask for Room 185 - that's the larger, newer, cleaner room I saw. However, it is located on the...

“Good Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We stayed here our first night on our vacation and was spacious and comfortable beds. It is very close to shopping and restaurants. The breakfast is so-so would recommend going to a regular restaurant for a good meal. Over all was worth the price for the room.

Room Tip: Request a room on the top floor as not to worry about hearing people walking above you.

“The bad and the good!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We had a family trip to New Hamphire in August 2011. The location of the hotel is great, near everything you can find. The beach is just 4 miles away! The staff was friendly, although if you went for a cup of coffee after hours, they will watch your every move. They made sure you would not take anything they have for breakfast!! Breakfast room had a terrible smell, I guess it was the discussting tin of what they called scrambled eggs! YIKES that was discusting looking eggs. The room was super tight for a family of 4. You can feel claustrophobic. The room was fairly clean, if you looked under the bed you would see the "garbage" left by who ever was there before you. The bathroom was faily clean, but if you took a bath and looked under the toilet bowl....YUK! The rooms always were sprayed with some good aroma, so at least you smelled something pleasant. The outside of the room is filled with a million spiders that come out at night! The pool was good, although the water was FREEZING! you could not get in it, and the heaters were never turned on! The dollar paid for a week there, was really good, but you get what you paid for .... Should I go to NH again, I would not pick this place again. I rather go closer to the beach next time.

“A Little Good, But mostly Bad”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We have stayed here several times, usually for the night. Never more then one day. This time it was free because I had points. When we (my son and I) were checking in on the 16th we asked if the pool was still open, Answer YES, Wrong... Although they have a heated pool and the temp was 69 degrees there was no one around the pool was dirty and it was locked. The air conditioner in the room made a horrible noise and the bathroom needed some serious cleaning and maintenance including parts that were missing from the tub. All the corners were filled with dirt and the carpets needed cleaning and to be vacuumed there were pretzels on the floor around the bed frame from a previous guest! Needless to say if the room was anything else except for free we would not have stayed here again. Good thing we were not in the room for a long time, my son would not have been happy. Although it is close to all the attractions and in a remote enough area that you get rest at night due to the quiet area.

Room Tip: Spend a few extra dollars and stay else where.

“more like a pay by the week...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

Jumping castles, water slides, petting zoo, etc... all very nice things for the kids if you plan on spending a lot of time in the motel. I thought it would be a great place for when you have to travel for atheletic championships but since we were there as tourist and just needing a place to sleep for the night, it was too much. Parents were sitting on the balcony just hanging out which was fine but I felt like we were at an apartment complex on a saturday afternoon. There isn't an elevator which was really inconvenient traveling with two children and a really heavy suitcase and my room was on the second floor.
The room itself was ok. It wasn't cleaned very well... there was peanut butter or something on the face place of the light switch in the bathroom - ew! and the corners of the bathroom floor were dirty, like the cleaning people just swished a mop around the main area in front of the tub and stool but didn't take the time to actually focus on the details.
I did a bed bug check as I always do and the mattresses were clean and comfy.
Hampton beach is a only a 20-30 minute drive away and we spent our afternoon there so when we got back we were tired and picked up sandwhiches from the general store just across the street and had dinner in our room. There wasn't any noise that disturbed us and we slept great.
If we are back in that part of NH again, I'll probably opt to spend a little more money next time and find a different motel.

Room Tip: if you have heavy bags or trouble going up and down stairs, request a first floor!
