“Very pleasant stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Easiest motel to find that we ever visited. It's directly opposite the bottom of the exit ramp from I-95. Motel was clean, continentinental breakfast was excellent & available to 10 AM. Indoor pool & hot tub were in excellent condition, pleasantly decorated & open to 11 PM. Staff was very pleasant & accomodating. The only negative (for tourists) is the distance & complicated directions to go to & return from downtown Portsmouth. Thank heavens for GPS!

“Handsdown...the BEST BANG for your BUCK!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

Stayed for a week at this lovely establishment. It seems is is under a new management and the staff is extremely friendly. They have a LAVISH breakfast in the mornings, have a small pool and most of all the facility is very well kept. The Location is awesome and it is close to retaurants and all kinds of shopping. The Manager Meena, is an exceptionally sweet and accomodating lady. She went out of her way to make sure that we had all amenties and even provided us will information on local restaurants, shopping and tips on things to do around town. The staff is equally nice and professional. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. My children especially enjoyed the pool and the jauzzi. She made sure there was fresh fruit in the morning when we went down for breakfast. Places like this are a rarity these days and I am so glad that I decided on staying here!!! I give it 2 thumbs up !

“Exceptional Service and Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

I am a frequent traveler and stayed at this property for 2 days when I was in town for a convention. The rooms are very clean and have all the amenities you would expect, common spaces include a pool and hot tub and a breakfast area which are all adequate and very well maintained. What made my stay here memorable was the staff. I checked in fairly late, approx midnight, and was welcomed by one of the managers, a lovely indian lady named Meena(spelling?), who upgraded me to a bigger room at no charge simply because they had extra vacancy. Furthermore, given that it was late she inquired if I needed arrangements for a late dinner since there is no restaurant on property and even offered some complementary snacks. This is a very professionally run establishment but it also has a exceptionally friendly and hospitable staff that is very warm and caring which is something i find missing in most of my stays in hotels or motels in this price range. I will recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and hospitable establishment in the value segment of hotels. 5 starts for service!!

Room Tip: The west side of the hotel is quieter since its farther away from the highway.

“A memorable and fun trip .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Spent three fun filled days with friends at this quiet and beautiful place.Very good location and good prices.staff is very friendly and helpful which made our stay very pleasant. The rooms are spacious and clean and interiors very good .The bathrooms are nice with in tub shower. The hotel serves very nice complimentary continental breakfast that we really enjoyed during our stay there.. Recreational amenities are also good.Because of the convenient location of the inn we were able to enjoy the scenic city of Portsmouth very easily and the hotel staff was very helpful giving us useful information. The parking area is also good.Restaurant within view of the motel served us well with different cuisines. It was a fabulous weekend getaway for us and the stay at the Anchorage inn made it memorable for us. I would love to visit this pretty town again and stay at anchorage hotel.

“Staff gets the stars”

Escaped to the Anchorage while our power was out. Room was clean, breakfast with a waffle machine was pretty good, and the pool, while small, had adult only hours from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. Some noise travels between floors and rooms, but it didn't disturb our sleep. There is a policy of quiet hours.
We checked prices at the nearby hotels before settling on the Anchorage because the staff was so friendly while coping with an influx of guests who had no power at home. Had we known about the microwave and fridge we could have brought food from our defrosting fridge at home.
The staff encouraged our visit to a supermarket a mile or so down the street and a fellow guest who lived locally confirmed that the RoundAbout restaurant within view of the motel would fed us well...which it did in a diner setting.

Room Tip: Rooms next to pool do have chlorine smell, but no problem 2 or 3 rooms away. Those on the back are...
