“Surprising Great Find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Stayed here in September with two friends. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival they have tea, coffee and small snacks in the lobby. The first room we were given was on the bottom level at the backside of the hotel. The weather conditions were raining making the room smell musty from the position on the backside of the hotel and not getting much sunlight. Due to my allergies I requested a room change and with no questions asked the staff gladly switched our room and gave us an upgrade for any inconvenience. The room and bathroom were both very clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is on a busy road but once in the room there is very little outside noise. We were concerned that it was too far from the downtown shops and restaurants but actually realized the benefit of being slightly away from the downtown, less traffic and only a short drive away with easy access to parking. Maine is just over the bridge. Recommend this for anyone coming to Portsmouth, exceptional value!

Room Tip: Any on the main part, avoid the lower level rooms on the back side if you have allergies

“Nice family environment that is clean and comfortable.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012 via mobile

Loved the service all around! Staff was pleasant and considerate. Treated me like family. The rooms were the cleanest rooms I've stayed in in a while. Extremely comfortable and homey! I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

“Nice motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Port Inn is really just a fancy-looking motel with a two story facade making it look much grander than it really is. But it's fine -- either new or newly renovated, with a pretty nice level of finish. I stayed in one of two small suites above the reception area, but most of the rooms open directly into the parking area. Breakfast was OK, with better than expected coffee, and I appreciated that it started at 6. No place to sit there, so it becomes a picnic back in the room.

Worst part is that it's quite close to Route 95, and a bit of highway noise was always perceptible. It's also in a bit of a wasteland, nothing is in easy walking distance. But I plan to stay there again.

“Great little place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

This was a great little place. The location is perfect for visiting old town Portsmouth and could not be more convenient to access all travel routes including Hwy 1 and the I-95 corridor points north and south. I read great reviews before choosing this little motor Inn and they were all true. Very clean, updated tasteful decor more like small B&B, helpful staff, and the price can not be beat. We spent 2 weeks at some of the best Inns and B&B's in New England and we could not get over this little place for the price, and convenient location. We ended up staying an additional night because it was less than 1 hour from Boston for our return flight home, and although we had to change rooms they were very accommodating as they were booked near capacity that 2nd night. A very pleasant ending to a great New England adventure.

Room Tip: Rooms in back were a bit newer and further from the road. Although road noise was not noticed up fr...

“Everything you Need”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Clean room, free wireless in the room, flat screen tv, free continental breakfast, convenient location and a very friendly, very helpful staff including Skip, Carol and Matt. Booked 90 minutes prior to arrival and went right into the room at a super price. Really, why stay anywhere else? Great value all around.
