My husband and I recently were married at Home Hill in late September, and although we had a few hiccups in planning (change in innkeepers 3 times, minor miscommunications), everything was beyond our dreams and the current innkeepers couldn't have been more helpful.
Mary and her husband Jon were so attentive all weekend without being too coddling. They helped us when we asked, and let us have run of the inn the rest of the weekend. They were incredibly sweet given that all our guests at the inn were on the younger side (and are big drinkers). Not one thing went wrong.
Mary was even sweet enough to pull me aside to inform me of a plan B in case the weather turned (it hadn't looked promising on Friday - but on Saturday it was perfect).
Chef Peter put together an amazing meal for us - everything we had hoped for. The hors d'oeuvres were spot on, the main course was unreal (due of lamb and duck) and they displayed the desserts we had ordered in beautifully.
Chef surprised us by carrying out two lobster fritters to my husband and I as we were pulled away for a quick photo op in the field out front -- now that's what I call service! Everyone put their heart into the wedding and made us feel like one in a million.
Oh-- and Chef Peter also brought my bridesmaids and me some sandwiches, snacks and cookies while we got ready (they realized that I was a bit lacking on the substantive food given that I was running around all morning decorating). The food was awesome! Delicious cheese, homemade bread, and spreads.
The inn was able to cater to our beer and wine selection, and even ordered in a bottle of Johnny Blue per request of the groom. It was incredibly sweet of them to cater to our personal tastes. We couldn't have felt more like royalty.
We stayed in the pool house which was super private and cozy tucked away in the back woods, but we did get to see all the other rooms as we put guest bags in them. They were all so great - it would be near hard to be unhappy in any one of them.
To top it all off, on Sunday morning when I woke up, all our decorations were neatly put in boxes and locked in the reception area for safe keeping. The staff was amazing! I couldn't believe they did this for us.
Oh-- and breakfast! YUM! Eggs and waffles were divine. Fresh cream from the farm down the road for coffee. Tasty granola... seriously - I couldn't get enough of the food.
We do intend to be back if not soon, definitely for an anniversary visit.
They were so accommodating I can't thank them enough, and there is 101 more things to write, but alas, I won't go on forever as some of our other guests have already left their comments.
